I said the same thing and was berated for that opinion, lol. I was told that Vail has proved they are evil/destructive and Alterra has not, or that Vail owns ALL THE REZORTZ and Alterra doesn't (and was shown a list of Alterra's actual owned resorts, which didn't include the Aspen resorts, which conveniently ignores the fact that the Aspen resorts own Alterra!).

I think that for many the reason is what doebedoe said, that it's simply that CB goers think Epic means more visitors to CB. Which I suppose is a valid reason to want Ikon, if you care more about skiing there then you care about the local economy there.

This. They are now one in the same.

If Front Rangers wanted to go to CB is the past, they could have via RMSP+ or the 2 for 1 Shell coupon. I don’t think they’re suddenly going to be this huge exodus to CB. Sure, it’ll be busier but it’s still 4+ hours one way. And being on the Ikon would bring more people anyways.

i know of 5 more people that will be going to crested butte next year that haven't gone in the past 4 years because they are on the Epic pass.

But are they really gonna go, or they just say they will and then never actually do? In other words, is it real or is it Epic[emoji769] hype.

People act like they sold to Vail, it's just a fucking ski pass. They probably just need an infusion of cash after this season sucking so bad.

Very simple: one of them is Vail, and one is Not Vail. I'm not at all surprised by the reaction. Rational or not, people really really hate Vail in places like CB and Aspen.

Let's face it - the chances of CB having shitty snow is WAY better than the chance of them having *good* snow... so I'd wager it's mostly hype.

Yeah - I lied... we got the Epic back when we had both a 5th & 6th grader. And the Beav *was* pretty nice.

And I *have* had a decent day or two at Vail... just don't tell anyone.

That EPIC mix thing got me wondering.....Is CB going to have to install the scanners at each lift so all the EPIC posers can track and post their EPIC runs?

ABasin doesn’t have them so hopefully not.
