    Reasonable hypothesis...
Tnx for the numbers. I still ask of the "didn't deploy" how many had their triggers zipped away vs how many didn't pull the trigger? (I bet its mostly the latter but...)

Didnt ABS have a 'pull your buddy's bag' system?

for me the number one determinant in choosing a new airbag would be weight. If you are pulling your airbag multiple times a day your doing something wrong imo. Also i dont fly with ski gear. If I would regularly than battery/capacitor systems would be more attractive. Now they are just too heavy.

I'm talking out of my ass, but I'd say I think things are going to go battery/capacitor save a few stalwarts. As more people get into BC it's another high margin tool they can sell. For everyone, but especially from those coming from out of town (which are the people who are going to be getting into backcountry - ahem, me), the convenience factor is so much higher.

I'm curious what the pros think - the ones in AK who are running more dangerous lines and are likely to be deploying them more frequently. My guess would be they like the canister for the weight, since money is not an object?

Anyone see it or better get to try it? Reports? Impressions (vs XTD, new tecnica zero g)?

Edit: that link doesn’t go where it used to go - maybe this one better.

It was at ISPO.. Interesting walkmode.. Small lever mounted just bellow the top buckle for quicker transitions. The cable system that activates the walkmode is from Shimano. It's light, ROM is good but my guess is its a little less then XTD but more than Zero G.. No vacuum fit but the shell is moldable at 140 degrees celcius. 130/120/100 flex, last one without tech inserts wich is stupid. Gripwalk sole. A-symetric tongue. Thats it I think.

Head has a new KORE boot. Same market but they have this system where you can inject yellow stuff in the liner that stays liquid to play with the volume around the ankles and heel. Interesting what people think about the liquid stuff and how this will play out in use..

I saw that too. I wonder how similar it is to zipfits (which are insanely good for heelhold vs comfort).

I haven't heard about anything new from Scarpa except a carbon Alien. Is everything else pretty much the same?

Those goggles seem cool, but their base line is a bit dark and those frames are YUDGE. My Smith Phenoms with Sensor Mirror (current blue sensor mirror?) are 60% VLT. Generally stick with that in MT anyway, on those sunny days with dark goggles, it can be a bit unnerving when you hit shade. Did they say how they work? Like, does it need current to change the tint? I get the feeling those need batteries.
    No longer stuck.

Looks like it has replaceable soles from the pics...? Did you notice that at all? A must for sled skiing.

The video explains. USB charger and it's good for a few hundred tint changes. I do agree they look overly large which is a turn-off.

Yeah, I watched the beginning of the video.
They also don't appear to be a spherical lens.

have you used the Prizm lenses before?

I own Hi Pink, Rose, Sapphire, Torch, Black - these go Rose, Torch, Black

I admit I did use my Fall lines with Hi Pink a lot this season on snowing days but also the Rose, although they don't let much light in, to me the Rose is good in most snowy days with all the lens letting in the right light...

I have 3 pairs set up Airbrake with Rose, Black for variable days, Fall ines with either Torch or Hi Pink, Flight Decks with Sapphire.

The medium lenses Sapphire and Torch are good in most cases, and even when its snowing in the trees...

Yes they are a mix of the Fall Lines and the Flight decks...

Fall lines are spherical but I love mine...

Flight decks are big and I love mine...

Don't think I will buy them as together I think they look too big...

Finally, someone has good sense. Black crows just introduced a ski for steep skiing, and it's heavy.

Good riddance to light skis that can't do the job on steep and inconsistent snow.

^^ what qualifies as heavy? I ask since black crows tends to keep it light in general.

Uhhhh...... 3.5 kg is less than 8 pounds. You realize that means both skis right?

That's 3.5kg per pair for 173 r-c-r ski. How much for the 180's?

What about those new v-werks mantras?

Aren't there several others in this category?

I can walk down the wall of most any ski shop and find plenty of 100mm skis weighing 500g more per pair than those. 1750g seems like a medium weight touring ski to me, not a beefy alpine ski.

Reading this thread, holy fucking goggle quivers! people have a lot of fucking goggles. I have one pair. Had them for years year them all the time. Even around the house. I usually don't wear them when chainsawing.... too hot. They'll probably get replaced when they break, the band wears out, or foam rots. I'd be down for a quiver. Accepting donations.

Black Crows Solis will not be the heaviest ski out there but the frenchies will think of you having to carry that thing up a couloir. I guess that is how they balanced out the weight. They got me interested for sure.

I have an extra pair of I/Os. Picked up both for cheap. (I think one was $50-60 new on SAC and the other was $80 in Gear Swap in like new condition.) Useful to have two pairs and the second came with lenses I wanted. But couldn't see anything more than that.

I can understand a twisted fetish or having 2 lenses (maybe 3 if you're really into nite riding).

That said, go for it! People need to support the industry.
