This study was done in ng/g I'm pretty sure that's parts per billion. It's amazing that we even have the technology to detect such small amounts.

A chemist I know at an environmental lab likes to joke that every number in every report they produce should have an "ish" after it. He also says any chemist who disagrees is lying or delusional. That said, something like metals via ICP-MS is pretty damn accurate.
