I've driven a RWD Tacoma in the snow for over 15 years. Easy to do if you know how to drive on snow. Only problem is when you get behind someone drive sun 15mph on the uphill over Carson Pass and you decided not to put chains on because the roads did not really require it. It is fine, unless you stop on an icy uphill.

Glad to see the fresh snow. Hope to play in it Monday and later next week.

Caught yesterday afternoon at Heavenly. Freakin Spooner was a dodge ball demo derby coming back. We were kind of amazed to have had so many close calls. The season in Tahoe has arrived!

MAKE TAHOE DEEP AGAIN ~ 2016/17 OFISHUL SNOW/FOOD/WHINE & STOKE THREAD

Best day of the season so far at Squaw... it will even be worth all of the shit my wife is going to give me for chasing this storm right before Christmas.

On the Squaw food & drink note...

    - The Mtn Roots truck parked near the Funi has tasty breakfast tacos... 2 for $6 and worth every penny.

    - Skip Starbucks and show some local support by heading over to the Slot Bar where Ralph Backstrom is serving up a couple of coffee roasts (had the dark roast and it was really good).

Christmas family duties called me away from the slopes today. I did go XC skiing in my PJ's early this morning.

Through some sand bags in the back of your Taco and it does great in the snow.

You all can thank me for this storm. I did my duty by leaving town for 2 weeks.

Squaw was surprisingly uncrowded as well... almost felt like KW. Waited 4-5 minutes once and that was about it. Some of the best snow I've skied in Tahoe in a long time.

How are the twins doing? I remember reading Dr. Spock when we had our first kid--the advice about twins was "Get help." Hope you didn't get busted when you snuck back into the house yesterday.

KW did not suck today. Chutes off of Vista/Thunder saddle were rad. Fun low tide airs and fluffy landings with a bottomless hippy-pow runout to finish it off. Also found some really obvious lines not too far from the middle of Eagle Bowl that had somehow not been touched. Gonna stay cold for another day so git some.

Ended up spending Christmas eve day at the last resort I wasn't blacked out at.... Northstar.

Despite the parking lot being a zoo, nobody was in the trees. Coverage gets real thin below 7k feet. Definitely made lemonade out of the pass situation.

    Go Turx!

Does that mean no more bus or just more days in snow?

Consistent torque and consistent velocity are both your friend.

    Plan way ahead.

    Don't slam on the brakes.

    Okay. Your good.
