That is definitely true. Unfortunately it might not be for a bit but me and telee need to get up there for some fish wranglin' with you and snapt.

Would anyone be into a weekend on the Salmon chasing chrome? I know snapt is but anyone else?

this is pretty interesting. i've cast at these in the salt but didn't realize there are freshwater ones.

You boys were close, try the Yampa around Maybell (Juniper Canyon) and the White below Rio Blanco reservoir to the Utah line, you'll catch plenty Squawfish.

Not sure how to follow that ^^^^ other than to just do it. Well done gentlemen!

Metolius R - a quiet pretty river in central OR that doesn't give much up

Not many fish handled & even fewer photos but solid times with my brother targeting rainbows and teasing the depths looking for bull trout

(If anyone wants to recommend a reasonable 8 wt, I'm suddenly in the market)

What will you be targeting with it/what kind of flies do you expect to throw?

Streamers for Deschutes R Steelhead mostly

Replacing a st croix imperial one handed 4pc 8 wt (altho it will get repaired/warranted)

Probably could go up a level in quality

I've been happy with my echo ion. Looks like it's now the ion xl. Their higher end rods look nice and warranty is pretty affordable.

TFO BVK. I bought one due to the rave reviews of Yellowstone angler shootout. It's an awesome stick that rivals the ion in every way. It really should cost way more than the $250 they ask for it. Chucks line like crazy and is fairly light. Loads nicely and is crazy accurate.

Kansas feesh. These are super fun on a fly rod. A 2wt would be a scream.

I was going to suggest the Ion as well, but if you want to step up a level maybe look at some of Echo's higher end rods. I was extremely impressed with the rod considering its sub $200 price tag. It is on the heavy side but casts great.

Took a little tour of the west. 3 states, 1500 miles, 6 rivers, good friends, cold beer and even a few fish.

Back at ya! J and I were just talking we need to come up for a fall streamer run when the 3 of us can actually fish together. Instead of spending our whole day oaring others.
