Man, do we need this storm.
Didn't even bother going out today with no sun. Almost got injured yesterday at Copper hitting that cement at the bottom near the lifts.

Thoughts/predictions on Vail for this coming Sunday-Tuesday? I have a buddy flying in. The trip has been planned and tickets have been bought, not much we can do about it.
Sure.... rent a bike and head west to Fruita for the weekend.

formerly an ambassador for a few others, but the ski industry is... interesting.
Fukt: a very small amount of snow.
First day of Spring, or did that come in early January? Here's to a hopeful south of the equator snow season. Cause this ones sucked, USA, USA.![]()
Is anyone else having these insane in-bounds avy conditions right now?
Tomorrow could be a great day of spring skiing both in and out of bounds. Half you fuckwits will never know cause you only sit in traffic to ski powder. They you'll cry in your Cheerios when in rains in May out in the desert.

Yes, that last one is in-bounds. Yesterday the snow report hotline went out of their way to say double blacks probably wouldn't open b/c of the hazard.

^^ woah! thanks for the info. Besides CB, you guys probably have some of the only inbounds terrain steep enough and low enough to have these wetslab problems right now. But obviously not just an elevation thing with the bowl going pretty big too. Come back cold temps!
Thanks for the info. I checked the CAIC but didn't see much. We've had neither rain nor much snow this week in the Northern Front Range so things are probably different. I guess the questions is whether in bounds/ out of bounds matters much with wet slides. Somebody more knowledgeable than me could comment on if skier compaction and blasting can any effect on wet slide. After the in bounds death at A Basin due to a wet slide, I'm sure ski areas manage this more cautiously.
The steep half of Montezuma bowl was closed today all the way over to the chair line. I guess I just found out why.
