Happy St Patty's Day!
Warning for the easily offended. And no, this is not my pic and no luck of the Irish for me. But too good not to share! Get your Irish on!

The Passion is in the Risk
Another great day at Sugarbush side country.
^ Hmm I've never had a titty shot. That now goes on the short list.
cool action shots.
jonesing for another powder day!
huge, glaring difference in snow quality from north to south.
the big fellah, just sent me some pics/video from up north, it's still winter up there!
the cutoff is Killington, anything south of there is gonna be brutal, with the cold air returning.
crab in my shoe mouth
Looks sweet blur, the sacred grounds look prime
Lynchy - I'm at least hoping some friend of yours is on the other end of that flesh!
Buttah - Come north tomorrow, you might get your day.

I've noticed that the skiing mecca that is Southern Connecticut doesn't get much love here. Luckily, I was working in Milford yesterday and realized I had my splitboard, avy gear, and boots in the car.
I checked the weather...
Perfect ski conditions! I couldn't find a proper USFS Topo Map, so I was going to need to rely on this...
Afraid to tackle such an intense endeavor alone, I reached out to some fellow mags. When the idea of such a trip was proposed, two standard replies were given, "Really?" or "Seriously?". After explaining to them I was in fact really, seriously, going to do it, I manged to get PearlJam to join me.
I should note that the trip was simply to intense for Rusty Groomer. With trails like this, I can see why...
The lift system was top notch...
But coverage was a challenge
The coverage didn't stop PearlJam...
The trip was so fun and intense, PearlJam put together an edit!
More seriously, it was cool to go ride a revitalized NELSAP. I can only think of four ski areas that have gone under and come back (out of 800 plus?). I also had a nice long chat with the CEO. We discussed his vision for "urban" ski areas. His dream is to build a number of small 300-500 vertical feet ski areas close to urban centers where people can learn, schools can do their races, etc. Most of us learned to ski at these little places and I wish him luck in his project.
Super rad!
Full disclosure, I grew up in CT but never skied Powder Ridge. I did however slay the MUCH STEEPER slopes of Mount Southington![]()
Here are some shots from last night....

Aim for the chopping block. If you aim for the wood, you will have nothing. Aim past the wood, aim through the wood.</p>
South has lost a lot of snow, eh? Sounds cool what that guy is trying to do. Hopefully he gets local support.
^ NEK! bitchin!![]()
Hey MSB and PJ09 - Such an inaptly named ski area! Did you take advantage of the 'hike one, ride one' policy?
So cool NEK, wish I went outside last night. I must have refreshed the oval map a hundred times yesterday.

How are the slopes looking for tomorrow?
Holy cow! Ripping pow at the ski hill was so fun last night!! Sous-bois got a good refresh. Probably still lots left out there today.

Fun day in the ice cold NVTBC, crap shots from me, but all the same here's one with TC and VTCS as we tackle storm slab, wind slab, scoured to old base, ice, sun crust, windpacked, soft slab, sugar, old avy debris, and of course, that sweet sweet pow...
...I'll try a little harder here. TC in the funzone
