Here's some photos from MDI early last month to hold people over while waiting for Cat. I can't imagine that it's gotten worse.

Haven't seen Sand Beach while skinning before.

From the Gorge Path to Dorr Peak isn't really skinable, I would suggest another way up Dorr. But it was between Caddilac and our cars, so why not.

4-6" forecast is certainly happening. I hope it will be out there waiting for me until after town meeting tomorrow.

Seems like a lot of folks have been heading down my way with the unusually high tide. Good moves Fenris. It got really good, but the sun and higher temps have done their damage now. The faceshots are all but a distant memory.

Pretty epic weekend. Saturday at Jay Peak was the Inaugural Snowskate Convention, I didn't get much video then, needed all my skills riding the resort on my snowskate for the first time. Up until this weekend I had only ever ridden it in the back yard. It was SUPER fun, wish they allowed it at Smuggs.. working on that one.

Here is the video I made, some turns with the family and then the powsurf demo at the golf course following an epic day on the hill.

Mini was so fun this year. If VTF puts a date on the calendar for April at K I'll do my best to show up and rip with mags. Tough to ask for a better scene than what is going on at Magic right now. A March Platty day might be in the running though.

Was there Friday with Strawjack and his 2 ripper boys and we noticed several skaters absolutely tearing it up, guess that explains it. Grom stoke ftw!

Bottle - Looks like serious bidness down there...maybe Thursday if you're around?

15.5` bob sunny and calm. After shoveling my drive when I got home last night the wind came in strong with the passing front. Blew like crazy for hours and moved the blower somewhere. More shoveling today.

Apparently Les Otten is back in the mega-resort business. Or at least he wants to be, be interesting to see if he can pull this off:

Intriguing. I wonder how they're gonna get enough folks all the way up north to the middle of nowhere...

Wow, that's pretty big... The website looks like they are not going after families.. or anyone with an income under 300k

    NFW, Les.

You have to build some sort of famous tourist trappe lodge to catch people with that kind of income. It will take 100 years to get it built out. You'd think he'd learn.

^^^Teaching Oedipus to my Sophomores, maybe I should cite Mr. Otten as a modern man guilty of hubris.

Ha ha... and he's a partial Red Sox owner.

What else needs to be said?

Ginn corporation (and many others) tried in vain with Burke for years, but it's just too far from population centers and off the beaten path. Stowe works because it's on Mansfield, is so well established, has the European connection/vibe of the Von Trapp family lodge, and has a long time, well developed restaurant and lodging infrastructure.

I just can't imagine attempting to build that sort of resort in the middle of nowhere, with no famous historical draw, existing infrastructure, interstate highway access, etc., etc. on a mediocre mountain with so many other options nearby. Other than that, I love it and will be investing heavily.

I saw that pop up on social media last week. After some google earth sleuthing, it definitely is not going attract people who want to ski. I think the vertical drop totaled ~1400' in one long, low angled pitch.
