i like okemo nordic, yes a lot of it is on the golf course, but it's a really interesting golf course.
grooming can be spotty, and there is a 'fat farm' up top, if you don't get out before they go for a plod, post-hole city!
they give zero fucks about walking on skate lanes, pole snap is a reality, and the poles are the most expensive part of the setup!
Grafton Ponds is decent, they make a quality snowmaking lap, so if it's bony, they have it going on.
my gripe with Grafton is the fact that the trails, if not on the fields, are relentless beatdowns.
not a lot of fun, but the suffering is epic.
the best place i've ever been is Bretton Woods, world class Nordic.
mastering the V2 is still my proudest achievement on snow, git-sum!

Yes, that and the former Balsams Hotel, pretty much perfection.
    But what about V2 Alternate?

Just got back from a bikeride with the gf. went over a bridge. then came back over a bridge. Wow. That weather out there. And there's a really bright object up in the sky. I got some mail when I came back. It was pretty exciting at first but then I realized it was all junk. Oh look, there's my cat! What a day!

Skate skiing for the win! Awesome workout! Lung burner! When there is enough snow Jackson is pretty nice too. And expansive.

The best classic XC skiing in SoVT is Wild Wings in Peru. Viking is okay for skate but FS10 out of Landgrove is even better and free.

I had some coffee, then pounded nails, cut a bunch of wood, pounded more nails, then had a beer.

Ugh... so the worst of Rog is back. Oh well. He was nice the couple times I met him, but that's no excuse for being an anti-semite. And boring- the greatest of internet sins.

If you put Rog, Rodneyvvvvvv, and Creaky Fossil on ignore, TGR becomes markedly improved. Sure, there is no shortage of loud narcissists, idiots and assholes around here, but at least the rest of us are funny once in a while.

No frost up here, bob, morning news had reports of low 30's and frosty grass in the Kingdom. Riding before the rain is going to be a refreshing tack-fest.

Starting to have a Fall feel in the Air. Checked back on Mount Washington Summit records for the past year. The monthly snowfall average was topped in November, December, February, March, May and August. I know 6 is the average number to be above with 6 below (actually I don't think June and July count); however memory has very few months in the previous 36 above average. Of course memory is a funny thing. Anyways October turns are not uncommon and November turns at least WROD are a guarantee so soon the sliding with gravity will return.

Yep, feeling cold even down here, plus our daughter has now given me my first cold of the season ... but hey, what better way to pass the time under such conditions than to plan the 2014 rando race season:

VPR said it was an unofficial 28 in the NEK last night. Ice was reported on puddles, too. Prepare for the season now and repent!
