Yeah, that pretty much mirrors what I heard. I'll check out Nashoba.

Anyone skiing Sunday? My usual suspects decided they are too good for the WROD and are heading home after ESAW. Will be staying in North Conway so looks like the options are Loon or Sunday River.

I always try to go skiing on Veteran's Day...Killington doesn't let me ski for free but I have a free Express card so it's 50% off plus I have 2-fer-1s for anybody that wants to join in. Pretty sure Goniff is going to be there also. Buckethead?

The final shipment for the raffle prizes and silent auction just arrived at my door,
so time for one final ESAW reminder:

    ---------- Forwarded message ----------
    From: Christopher Joosen
Date: Thu, Nov 7, 2013 at 1:34 PM
Subject: ESAW Coming in 2 days!

Looking forward to seeing all of you this weekend.
Really a great line up and evening for this Saturday's ESAW 2013.
Any last-minute questions let me know and I'll do what I can to respond if I don't get shelled.

    • Bring a mug if you wish to keep the Frontside coffee hot.
    • This is last year on metal chairs I promise-I'll explain about 2014 on Saturday, but bring a cushion for your backside if you have trouble with metal folding chairs.
    • Some folks have found paper and pen handy for certain talks of interest.
    • We'll start right on time so please give yourself enough time to get through check in. We'll have about 140 people so it may take a hair longer to get through the line than last year. We'll have it streamlined with multiple people checking you in to help it go quickly.
    • Remember, If you are a member or worker in the list below bring along your membership information and get a $10 IME Gift certificate at registration. As I mentioned before make it easy for our volunteers at the check-in desk and bring something that easily passes the straight-face test, e.g., a membership card, a current organizational publication with your name and address on it, etc.

    • American Alpine Club
    • National Ski Patrol
    • Professional Ski Patrollers of America
    • American Avalanche Association
    • Canadian Avalanche Association
    • Mount Washington Observatory
    • Current American Mountain Guides Association Certification
    • Taken or instructed an Avalanche course with AIARE certification in the past 24 months

    • For those interested in hanging around on Sunday for some more avalanche-related education and topics, AIARE is offering an Instructors Refreshers Course just 100 meters from IME. They are offering it to ESAW attendees whether you're an instructor or not. The cost is $100. If interested check out this link: http://aiare.info/course_detail.php?recid=1557
    • Go to http://www.esaw.org/category/latest/ for Saturday's schedule.

    See you Saturday!

Great lineup this year Get there early

Going to TGR show in Portland tonight. Think it is $17 at the door and you get a Saddleback ticket with Saturdays blacked out. Show starts around 8 at the State

Remember talking to Stacy before he dropped the cliff in Tucks at the 2:03 mark, I asked him where he was going to ski and he told me. My response was "where are you going? There!?".

Just got an email from Killington...skiing on Monday is free for active duty and veterans. I want to hate the place but the new management is making it harder and harder to do so.

Goniff confirmed he's going to meet me there with non-mag snowboarder MR and maybe Buzz. Still looking for BUCKETHEAD!!!

I was there that day too, that line was so flippin' badass!!! Looked way bigger in person but damn was it sick watching him thread into that tiny start to the line and then just drop down into the middle of the bowl. I don't think I'd been skiing and witness to such a raucous applause, that huge Tuck's crowd went wild! Only skied one run that day but paying witness to that throwdown was worth that hike.

Also, can't wait to see this Meatheads series comes out. Leoni is a ripper and has beautiful style.

Can't believe we are only two weeks out for skiing the bush. Mountain biked Wednesday night after work in shorts and a tee shirt. Only way to tell it's almost ski season was the fact we were riding with the lights on from start to finish. Hopefully that was the last of the warm temps and we are good to go.

I think we may have been hanging down at the bottom that day having a brew watching. I remember meeting a bunch of people that day. I was up there with the Faters and some other people, but I got up there early and got a couple of runs in really early.

Also, like 30min before Stacey skied that line that dude tomahawked down the space inbetween Sluice and Lip and split his head open.

    So. Much. This.

I can't freakin' wait for this series and I think a lot of us can identify with the responsibility vs. desire aspect of the pursuit that it focuses on. I know I can. Glad Leoni is capitalizing on the Pow award and continuing to produce awesome stuff.
