TR: Family Vacation in the Dolomites

Went to visit family in Val Gardena last week. A few highlights:

    Went skinning with mom-

    Skied Pow with step dad-

Why has he decided to dress like a combination of Tom Wallisch

And Porkins (thanks for that one BD)?

    I just don't know.

Why are my skis so heavy?

Took another traditional mode of transportation

    To this bustling metropolis

    Couldn't touch this

Or any of this (because of high avy danger)

So I finished with some ridge skipping

This is awesome!! Way to bring the stoke and really nice scenery shots!

Really cool that your parents still get out there. Mine have reached the age where that really isn't doable. Or at least I couldn't really stand to wait the time it would take.

A few more pics of mom wouldn't hurt

Damn, that looks so good... Yurp is in it's own league.

So jealous, but how cool is that... skiing with your mother and step-dad?! Need to get back there soon.

Great TR (but you're in Italy.... where are the food pics?! )

Ha! In a former career I had a client with severe schizoaffective disorder who said to me, "Did anyone ever tell you... that.... you... look like Brad Pitt?" I don't. Not even a little. Nor do I ski like Dav. Not even a little.

    Canale Joel

    Canale Holzer

There are a dozen or so more 40˚+ couloirs (some requiring a small hike or skin) off the Pordoi Tram.

Goal for next trip near by:

Edit: some pics and description of Sass Pordoi/ Sella Group lines here:
