Stone Enjoy By IPA......pretty damn good. Local pub here on cape cod managed to grab a barrel and it was excellent. Might have to go there for lunch today to reconfirm.

I recommend A+P liquor on 21stl. Corti Bros or any of the nugget markets should do the trick as well.

Thanks guys. Found some goodness for my wife's 40th. Got some steel pint glasses at REI to go along with the Oaked Bigfoot and other treats.

Not that much more ... you're losing your edge Hugh!

They're not really related to UC Davis. I think Jeremy lives there or lived there at one point, but not related to the UC.

Regardless, I can't put out enough lip service about what Knee Deep is doing:
    * Hoptologist is spectacular, and beat Pliny in at least one legit comp
    * Batch 138 specialty IPA in bottles
    * Simtra (10+%) available in bottles year round, and can go toe to toe with the Younger, which is only available ~3 weeks out of the year
    * Other good shit in their lineup, and hopefully new brewpub in Auburn by the end of the year

If you see their IPAs/DIPAs in a store and you haven't had them before, buy more than just a couple - elsewise you'll be disappointed with yourself!

For the bitter fan: HighWater Retribution IIPA[/QUOTE]

You had the No Boundary IPA yet? I like that one better.

Before I moved, I heard Kneedeep moving to Auburn was a done deal. Stoked to check it out when I visit if they do.

SLC mags that enjoy citrus-y IPA should get to Epic Brewing's cold case and get the Mosaic Hopulent. Get there before I go back and buy them all.

The Imperial IPA is pretty good too, but a little pricey.

I haven't been too crazy about their IPAs, but these two stand out. Apparently the Mosaic Hopulent uses only Mosaic hops, rather than the blend of hops in the normal Hopulent. It is tha bomb....if you like grapefruity...which I do.....oh how I miss O'Dell's IPA.

that should get you going. ruination always ruined me. Not sure why, can take a few other HA IPAs, but stone brews always seem to fuck me up.

Picked up a six pack of firestone Union Jack. Been a while since I had this, great stuff!

    One of my favorites.

Man I've never tried Nugget Nector and would be up for traiding local beers for beers. Just finishing some Surly Abrasive. It's the last of the year but I might be able to find some more. Anybody want to trade for Nugget Nector or: Also would like some 3Floyds ."Zombie Dust" OR Alchemist "Heady Topper"

OR I can trade MN or WI only stuff like Central Waters, New Glarus, or many of the tons of beer you don't get out there like Deschutes in Nugget Nector territory.

Do a nigger a favor....I don't want to trade on beeradvocate cause I'm banned and I figure I'll have to get some fake IP and then I'll always have to go through that and I'm lazy. Let me know what beer you want and I might be able to find it. I can get you some awesome beer. If I was on beeradvocate I would complete these trades with Surly in a day.

Nugget Nectar is up there with Zombie Dust or even Hopslam - one of the best you can get out East. Three Floyds, Bells, Half Acre, etc are great here in Chicago but that's the one beer I really miss.

831 is back at SARA and damn fresh and tasty. The Simple: Nelson was solid.

New on the Santa Cruz brew front is Discretion: Uncle Dave's Rye IPA is a really solid rye IPA.

Oh wow, cool. I was in my local beer dist. and the dude was helping me find some stuff. I guess by the stuff I was looking for, he surmised I might appreciate this Nugget Nectar. Said they only had a few cases in, and were only selling people one sixer per visit.

I honestly had not heard of it, and at $14/6pk, I was gonna pass. But dude seemed adamant that I was being a putz by not scooping it up. So I caved.

I would love to report that I was blown away...but it was just a solid, tasty, hoppy beer IMO. I would probably not buy it again at that price, since there are so many beers I enjoy at $9 or $10 a sixer.

    Heresy???

No such thing. Only you know what you like.

Although, sometimes poor conditioning can take a great beer down a couple of notches. The first time I had Stone Enjoy By 12/21/12 (end of the world edition), in a well-conditioned bottle, I thought it was good, decent, not standout. The second time I had some from that same batch, I thought it was fan-freaking-tastic.

Now, if you started talking about how much better you liked Stella Artois than that beer, you might definitely get an e-kick-in-the-balls ...

I call that "shitty transport and distribution" it's, imo, the biggest variable in beer nerdery these days. at least some breweries won't bottle/distribute because of it.

Along those lines - I finally had a really good Ninkasi Total Domination once they started big volume shipments of 6ers

^ Ninkasi Tricerahops on tap at Divided Sky in Myers. Not that there is any snow to ski in Tahoe anymore though.

For Seattle area people, Wisdom seeker is out and pretty damn good. I think its worth hunting down if possible. Tap only, though I think they sell 22s at the brewery. Never seen a bottle of it before so Im not positive

Golden/Boulder mags, I am now taking bids on the following:
1 x Knee Deep Hoptologist (beat Pliny the Younger in 2012 SF Beer Week DIPA Festival)
1 x Knee Deep Hop Shortage (very dry-malted, ultra bitter TIPA)
1 x Green Flash Palate Wrecker (just about the single most ruinous bitter beer I have ever had!)

Or will I have to just drink these myself in the hotel room? No seriously, I'm bringing them out to share the love. Anyone wants one, just buy me a cocktail or something. Or send me home with a DuganA or Maharajah!

Staying at the Golden Hotel on Thursday night. Staying at the Boulder Marriott on Friday night.
    Who wants to go drinking?

Yea, it was a solid beer.

Right now I'm addicted to Hill Farmsteads beers. Any of them, but the ipas are amazing. I'm sure part of it ia that their beer is always fresh because they won't put pales in a long term bottle (growlers only). Hmmm, Citra, Single Hop, and the double (society and something).
