Yup bust for us too. Had a nice misting in town, bear lake snotel showing an inch. Ugh... Anybody make the trip to wolf? 3" report down there was the shocker for me this morning. How's the mon-tues storm looking?

Edit: that 3" report was from sat. My bad...

17at Wolfie or 14/12 at Silverton/Tride were the right calls. 4" at the Beav and 33 this morn. Take what we can get at this point.

9 inches overnight at the ski area, winter restored. NOAA saying another 8-16 and snow through wednesday...the pow is back.

today was really good. I don't want to jinx anything, but the headwall was looking pretty beautiful, maybe another 10 inches from this next storm and we might be close to opening?

Riders on the storm this morning. Loved breaking out the yellow lenses. Fresh is best but even yesterday was great with the steep lines on stable snow.

Somehow, the 2" at Vail skied more like 6"-8" this morning. I think it was heavy enough that I wasn't bottoming out as easily as expected.

Skied Monarch today. Best resort day of the year for me by far. The 5" reported skied much much deeper than that. Was able to find untouched snow all day. Mostly skied mirkwood, which is way fun. It was wetter snow which is exactly what they needed to cover up the mank and rocks underneath. First time at monarch, gotta say its a rad little mountain.

Trees at 3:00 totally untracked still

They'll be in great shape if they get another 4-8 over the next few days on top of this denser snow.

Cool! I got one day there last winter after driving clear from Avon to get away from the heat. Found all kinds of stashes and cool spots I could see from the lifts. Was pretty empty too. Plan on going back soon!

J- Sweet, I'm hitting Monarch tomorrow with Sperry and could be convinced to travel onto SF tomorrow night if you are staying another.

Invite goes to anyone else that might want to split a room in SF Monday night. Or gas from Denver/points South.

Taking rec's on cheapo motels down there as well. Always been a guest when I stayed previously.

I am thinking of staying another night if it keeps snowing...will probably just stay at this motel again. Check out and then check back in, lol.

I can't complain, the Beav was a lot of fun today. I'd argue the heavy snow actually made conditions better - everything skied soft, not dust on crust. Certainly not deep by any stretch but definitely nice pockets of goodness here and there. A good day to be out

I'm sorry to sound like a bitch but I just wanted to say that monarch is hands down the most overrated mountain in colorado.

Sure, the pow is great there. That is because no one skis monarch because it sucks. I am sure that if Vail only had 200 visitors a day that the powder would be pretty awesome there too.

monarch is lame. most of the lifts give you about 500-800 vertical of actual skiing.

Mirkwood sucks. I don't know what you gapers in here are talking about. If I remember correctly (which I do) Mirkwood is a 10 - 15 minute hike, followed by 300 vertical feet of steep, and a mile long run out.

I would rather ski the fucking contest bowl at breck. I'm sure that you all think I am being a troll right now, or lying to keep people away from my "stashes". I'm not. Monarch sucks. Ski there all you would like, gapers. I'm going to go ski a mountain with real terrain and vertical.

^^ you spent time to knock a mountain and people who enjoy it, just because you don't? You have a lot of free time on your hands.

I look forward to your next rant about how sick night skiing at keystone is.

Shaping up to be a pretty nice week after that month of disaster. No significant snows for us in over 30 days. Wow!
