would be awesome if we could "swing" and "bam" it together down the sides as they refill before our eyes.

with 50+ trails and 250+ acres on a slow monday it should be quite good. heard it skied great all weekend even before all this snow, so at least it'll be soft underneath. sunday rivah always roolz when ma nature is being a beahtch.

Just went back through the past page....

Lynchdogger man that is some mean luck there. Any chance you had a two year warranty? If you do sell them on gearswap and get some radical speed-at 15% off through ems. Seems a bit beefier.

Oh and Dukes suck, but I thought we had hashed that one out before.

in the mean time, my gal is cooking and keeps on placing frosty cold beverages of different flavors in front of me while i ponder on TGR. ain't life great?!

I'm with DaveVT in my line of thinking. Pulled the skis and bike out of the car to trade for the boat yesterday. Skis may be going back in for tomorrow, only to get traded for the boat and bike by the end of the week again.

One of my buddies playing on the middle wave that doesn't come in except for on the really big tides. It was not fun to roll though we threw caution into the chilly wind and tried to play in the big hole that formed.

If school is cancelled in the morning I will be driving up to Sunday River. Really wish I could have stayed the night up in CV and skied Sugarloaf. Very impressive the trails that they have open there. Nice to ski a big Mountain.

we'll be leaving york early, like at 5am to leave an extra 2 hours to get there. if the ride goes quick we may skin a lap before the lifts spin, or skin a lap at mt abrahm on the way out of town in the afternoon on whatever trails they made snow on with all that pow sittin on top.

mountain is sick. on a pow day, or spring corn day, nothing east of the west compares. bigger/more sustained vert than anything in nh/vt and a lot less folks to ski it up due the, " ya can't get there from here", location of it.

if it wasn't forecasted to get half the snow that the riv's gonna get tonight/tomorrow, i'd have zero issues doing the extra hour of driving to get there.

maybe we'll see you tomorrow. look for the pom pom!!!

map i just looked at had 12+ for closer to sugarloaf and 5-10 for other areas including Sunday River. http://www.wcsh6.com/weather/forecast/extra.aspx

I sure will be sorely tempted, but 6 hours of driving (assuming snow) and skiing may be a bit much for me after a day of 5 hours of driving and skiing. Sunday River is only about 4 hours in poor weather so that is the likely destination if it works.

There is a program on the internet where you enter the zip code and whether it is a public or private school. The program them predicts the likelihood of no-school. Read 48% chance of cancellation for my district when I looked up info sitting in The Rack parking lot. With a heavy heart I turned for home. If i don't make it out, you folks geet the best of it.

Can't see why not. A DD214 is probably more deserving of the benefit than the old DD2 of some dirtbag who may or may not have been "other than honorable". The pass office folks were very helpful and didn't ask an questions whatsoever, simply thanked me for my service, handed me the forms & took the pic.

Let us know how it goes, and get out there & ski!

ooh, may have to pull an audible once on the road in the am. the drive would be epic tho.

i feel your pain on the heavy heart thang. when i used to ski eclusively at stowe for a few years, i once stayed an extra 2 days waiting for a storm that finally did arrive. my excuse for not being able to come home for work was that my brake lines in my car went and i had to stay in town an extra day to get the car fixed. well fuck me lord, of all the things i coulda picked to go wrong with my car, karma came and bit me in the ass, well not fully as i ended up having to stay 2 more days cuz when driving down the access road on my "extra" day, all of a sudden i had no brakes and had to literally drive up and over a raised embankment and luckily into an empty parking lot and down shifted and turn hard to come to a stop. twas the fucking brake lines. had no idea they were bad. well that earned me a second "extra" day as the shop had to wait for parts

better than losing the brakes on 89 at high speed on the way home

    heavy heart, yeah.

At least it has been cold enough to blow... but man, we need snow.

Anyone in VT that can give an idea of what today was like (specifically in northern VT)? The radar showed blue precip all day north of 89, but do you think Smuugs/Jay got 2", 4", or what?
Looks like Maine will again be the big winner.

Looks like the wasatch will be the big winner. My house gets two inches of rain and a quarter inch of ice, alta is getting four feet of snow in the next few days. DaFaq? Can i move yet?

Gore skied pretty well today. At least it came in as mostly snow and sleet rather than ice.

6am at the bush: another inch and light snow falling. It's coming down as wet hero: it's not mixed with rain sleet or bb's but it must be close to freezing. I'd say the total since yesterday is 3-4" down low, hoping for more high. Hmm. Dawn patrol, leisurely Monday start for first chair, or drive north?Click image for larger version.

3-4" at the base of the bush and still snowing, no mix or sleet here. It feels super luxurious if a little squeaky but i think it's just flirting with me. Hoping it stays dry and that there's a bunch more up top.

Edit to add that the forecast looks better than yesterday, too. Thanks to whoever washed their car... Or maybe it was the reverse boating jinx!

    have fun out there
yesterday was sneeting and rain at bellayre, and this system is going to have them starting all over with the manmade yet again, but my 4-year old did his first unassisted run making real turns and did the rope tow by himself. almost better than a pow day, almost.
