2 days for $66, just bring a ski club membership card. Oh that's right they never asked to see mine, forget the membership card. You don't have to be female either.

Yep Stowe (& other areas) run ski club appreciation days during the winter. Areas have been doing it for years. Stowe is running them this weekend (Fri-Sun) 1 day $45, 2 day $66 or 3 day $98. Stowe will be doing it again in Jan. but this time it'll mid-week (same pricing). They'll be doing it again in March for the 4 days preceding St. Pat's day (Wed -Sat), same pricing except a 4 day ticket will be $122. If they run a St. Pat's deal this year you could ski Stowe for 5 days relatively inexpensively. Last year St. Pat's fell on a Sat. & they didn't run any deal but this year it's falls on Sun. so maybe they will like they've done in years past. You're supposed to show a valid ski club membership card (I have one) but have never been asked to show it at Stowe. I was thinking of coming up this weekend but the weather turned me off.

    two interesting wx points.

    one, from nws btv
With no appreciable snow today, we will have gone 642 days since Burlington's last 6" (Warning-Criteria) snowfall. Our last 6"+ snowfall event was on March 6th-7th, 2011 (2-day total) with 25.8".
    :-/

    next from ne wx works
We want to start by saying, we don't want to get anybodies hopes up, since we know last winter was a complete train wreck for most of you, we understand how hard it may be for some to believe a pattern change is coming. But we strongly believe it is, and will begin to fall into place this coming week, one place we look at is stratospheric warming, this is taking place now, keeping this as simple as we can, we believe that three things will begin, 1 the Gulf of Alaska low will be replaced by a ridge, 2 we lose the bearing Sea Block, 3 a split vortex will force the southeast ridge out to sea, 4 the NAO tanks.

So what does this do for snow lovers, currently many are suffering from this latest rain, but if we look deeper, we see that Guidance down stream is beginning to except a pattern change.

We've been looking at a possible major system on or about the 17 - 20 of December,we've been talking about this nightly in our chat room for almost a week now, Like we said, we don't want to get peoples hopes up.

We Posted an article on our web site about Blizzards this winter, we believe there is a very strong possibility of that happening this winter, for the first time we see the EURO is flashing what looks like a major snowstorm on the 20th of December for the east coast.

This is early, but when looking at the overall evolution of this upcoming pattern, it looks like this potential Storm has a better than average chance of happening, due to the range in the forecast this events sits, we think for now it's better to keep the details out.

I'm pretty content taking it one day at a time so far, but here's to hoping.

And here's some good tunes for the day..

ECRC is good laughs this week. Too bad bout the weather back home in Vt. Oh hey, I'm in between runs at Alta and its dumping. Been skiing knee deep off Supreme all morning. Calling for 12 up top by tomorrow morning. Oh and a shout out to the fat rude fuck who interrupted my wife and I on the Southwest flight to inform us we were wasting our money going to The Wasatch because there was zero snow....suck it toolbag. The dickhead was smirking and shaking his head the whole time. Looking forward to an epic Magic season.....later bitches
