After skiing the Pipeline on Saturday, while returning to the CV ski trails for laps I saw that and thought, hmm, is that really a skiable line or just the lift route? I saw your tracks, so I figured that if you had survived, then so would I! Sure enough, that was a really fun line, and I didn't hit anything, although I did take it easy on the exit.

I know only a few people in the thread are skiing at $towe this season, but this email seems noteworthy:
Seems like hell really has frozen over.

FourRunner Quad Will Run As We Welcome Season Pass Holders Only, From 9AM to 3PM This Saturday, Nov. 10

Stowe Mountain Resort is Scheduled to Open for the Season on November 17

The Mountain Operations Team has once again exceeded all expectations [with an assist from Mother Nature]. After a week of operating over 130 Tower and Fan Guns, we’re inviting all of our 2013 Season Pass holders [including StoweFive Passes] to a pre-season day of skiing and riding. This Saturday [only] we will operate the FourRunner Quad from 9am until 3pm.

If anyone wants to read further on Fixed Grip's mother goose story telling capabilities about our trip to West Va, not the forum TR. this is for TGR live the blog. They were stoked enough to want us to elaborate more.

    nice feature TC^^^^^^^^^!!!

the rivah will have t2b skiing and the most acreage open tomorrow. a couple/few of us should be there around 10am. hopefully the wet precip maybe expected will be very light to none. before then up to 4" should fall which would ski in nicely.

Sure would be fun to back skiing mt mansfield this winter, but $teaux is just a bit too unreasonable in their pricing. Just a bit.

Also, I hope that this isn't a new thing, what with kmart doing the pass-holders only day and now $teaux doing the same. Dunno, call me old school or whatever, but it don't seem right. Plus, if I wanted to skin there on saturday, I'm now outta luck. Not sure though, after catching some vt steel this past weekend I might need more. Gotta get it while the gettin's good.

Oh, and spent some time last weekend checking out some cool stuff in the woods with the gf, who fkna crushed with a pair of loppers. Who knew?! Anyways, bottle and weasel, it's something you boys will enjoy this wintah.

Nothing exciting falling from the sky here in the banana belt of vt just yet. should be a couple o angry inches. guess we'll see

Enough babbling from me, carry on.

meh, 3 inches of now wet glop here in york. windy with rain chance at the riv is not motivating me one bit. looks like hot temps day and night for the next week cept for friday night means manmade snow go buh bye.

59 degrees with sun on monday means the riv WILL be worth the drive for t2b skinning/skiing in the best corn you can imagine in this galaxy.

got pre-approved for that home loan, time to make an offer, today's a good day for it. and a movie

monday=best skiing till we get storms that fall on any sort of base come january. monday anyone?

I hear ya there - I think they (along with the new mgt. at k-tron) have realized that last winter took a big hit on the industry, and they need to respond.
It's odd that stowe is going after that small market of people who can easily hop on a plane and spend the same amount of time flying out west instead of driving up here, generally for better conditions.
I think the bubble of opulence may be showing small cracks in it. Maybe, maybe not. Who knows?
On the flip side of what you said, would you be opposed to your local hill (say, if you have a pass at MSB or somewhere else) opening up a day early just for pass holders? I can't ever remember a time in my skiing career where a mountain has done that.

Plus, you can always skin sunday.

Another few degrees and this would've been a huge amount of snow in Boston. Oh well, it was good to see some white stuff for a little bit last night.

Monday skin for corn sounds perfect. Dog policy? Tman would dig the exercise and I trained him not to shit in the skin track. Hoping stuff comes in next day or so. Let me know.

Good luck with the house. York is cool.

Damn we got NOTHING in Albany, trying to figure out whether driving to get some is worth it but it looks like the Catskills/Berkshires got skunked as well

Gunstock spins the lift an hour early for season pass holders only about 1 weekend morning per month throughout the season.
