Jefferson County keeps updating this map hourly. The Evac area seems to be expanding.
For us in Roxborough, the S. Platte and Water Canyon with all of it's rock/water can hopefully be a barrier that keeps it higher up and off the plains.
You should have been here yesterday!
FYI, if this has not been posted.
The site http://webpages.charter.net/tcrocker818/ is now at:

For those unfamiliar, this is the site with historical snowfall for ski areas etc...
“I mean god damn, who could believe that shit.” Greg Noll, Riding Giants
had a guy in my shop today and we started talking about the shitty winter blahblahblah...We were talking about an article in the paper that said the CO River Basin was at 57% of normal and below 2002 in terms of water in the snowpack. The article went on to say that while we typically peak snowpack wise in early to mid April this year we peaked in early March. It said we would have to get over 700% of normal April snowfall to get us back to a normal snowpack by the end of hte month. This guy was 100% convinced that it was going to happen. He bet me 10 bucks that we would finish no worse than 95% of average. He said...."I haven't worried at all this entire year, it always comes". Most optimistic dude EVER.
ROLL TIDE ROLL
Fingers crossed that we get another pow day or two still... but my skis are being put away until there's hope. I just got a new bike and I'm going to ride the hell out of some singletrack this month.
Rumors have been flying that Crested Butte is closing early?
monarch is closing early...

Monarch announced yesterday that they are closing a week early.
In other news, the weather has been great for dusting off the road bike this week.
For you weather nerds, check out this wind map: http://hint.fm/wind/

Bummer, Ski Cooper is closing this weekend.... where will all the mags ski after that?
Aspen area folks: anyone been up to Ashcroft lately or,more specifically, Lindley hut area? Wondering if hut trip April weekend of April 21 will include snow, or if we should bag and head for fruita instead. Upside should be that we can drive way past Ashcroft I imagine.
By the time it actually snows in April...if it snows at all...there will be no base left anywhere anyway.
I french kissed Kelly Kapowski.
Any snow left in the mtns after today's ridiculous heat?
was 71 at 8k when I got home....ridiculous. Snotel at BC Village shows 10" vs 47" on the same day last year. Both resorts are farming the hell outta some snow to keep top to bottom open.
ROLL TIDE ROLL
Start and end season on the white ribbon. I'm done.
most insane gaper day at the basin today. so much fuckin fun.
good skiing and good singletrack at hartman's...gotta love it.
they shut the back down @ Vail finally...no idea how they kept it open as long as they did. Yesterday was insane warm, it was HOT as I sat on the deck @ Garfs drinking a beer. 2 weeks left.
ROLL TIDE ROLL
Rode Buff Creek and floated Deckers this weekend. Looking like a lobster today. Would take another pow day or two, but its going to have to be big dumps for me to get the skis back out. I've actually been enjoying summer quite a bit, this March. Drinkin beer, grilling, tokin up, riding bikes and water fun. I even went for a hike in the Indian Peaks. Yes, a hike. Wierd season.
Jbski, myself and a few others are gonna learn to speedfly in June. Hopefully that'll change things up enough to get us to next season without goin crazy. Will be fun to do a speedflying hut linkup. And, when we get skunked with shit snow, at least the flying will still be good.
I was sitting on my deck yesterday in shorts and a t-shirt, drinking a cold beer, and sweating my ass off at 9000ft MSL.
Lindahl...what hike in IPW? How were the conditions?
No words needed...
