I can usually get on the forums no problem but at night when I try get to the forums I get "service unavailable". All other parts of the site work except for the forums. I have to keep refreshing over and over and then eventually it will load the forums page. Is I crazy ??

Been happening to me for a while now.
It goes around 11:45-11:55 pm(pacific) give or take a minute.
As it happens everyday at that exact time, and no other time Ive run into, its probably just maintenance.

same... not really time specific though, at least that I'm sure of. I'm guessing there's an overload on the server during times of high traffic to the forum.

this is different from the 11:42-11:52 server maintenance. i think it's caused by the embarrassing (for whatever web site that runs them and the athletes in them) talking ads.

I run into it in the evenings more, 9:30-10:30 MST. Seems to pass most times, but other times I just give up and log on the next day.

yep, in the evenings, ~9MST, it's after i fire up the lappy and figure it's something with that, but then the iPhone won't pull it up either. This morning at around 8am was at another [work] machine, and was down about 15 minutes or so.

I'm no techie and might be totally off here but I think it might have something to do with the server getting overloaded, as TGR probably does not have a huge server and everyone is trying to connect so it is getting swamped.

We have been working on it. Surprised you are still seeing it donkey. It is a sitewide error, so everyone would see it. We are in the process of soing some server upgrades. hopefully these will help.
