    No shit.

I'd be more inclined to avoid the BB scene on Saturday.

Any reports on the Blackmore zone? Any takers for a Sat. attempt?

How about the condition of Fairy Lake Rd? Not like that'd be any less of a shitshow on the weekend but it might be worth a shot...

hoping to convince the roommate into taking a drive up to bridger tomorrow afternoon so i can get at least one (most likely short) run in.

i'll be sticking to the non-gnar low-angle stuff this early season as i lack avy gear and it's hard to justify spending money that i don't really have when i'm rolling back east in december. because of this, i probably won't be riding too much. sucks, but what can you do.

i too am down for a get together of sorts.

    awfully purty up there

lemme bump this since there seems to be a buncha spam on the board this a.m....
nice work up there people, pretty good sampling from one side to the other Ive been blastin out to belgrade summertime to fling my frisbees still, no snow at all out there- a 2hr window just isn't enough to justify a BB move- I wouldn't want to leave, prob gitta permaOface like that girl there...
did I hear 50s for the next couple days...?

    A couple scenics:

From Bridger Canyon, for your viewing entertainment.

    The nose:

A representation of turn quality. Damn good for my purposes.
    (Sorry, not hottiez)

And so today I agreed to work a day shift for someone, which I NEVER do. Of course it snowed 7 inches last night.

You better get it now, forecast says snow to rain the next few days, then temps near 50 in the mountains midweek.

Anyone know what the weather was like in Big Sky today? Possibly heading out for a Beehive mission tomorrow, but probably not gonna make the drive if it was shitty and rainy like it was here...

The weather station links for yellowstone club and bridger are up on the MTavalanche link.

Freezing levels look pretty high, only supposed to rise tommorow. Lame.

Only borrow avi gear if you know how to use it. Otherwise it just gives you some false confidence.

And to everyone going up tomorrow. I heard it was MANKY.

    Retardedness. Aww yeah.

well i've got aiare leve 1 under my belt, i just haven't had the extra cash to buy my own avi gear. it's kind of hard to justify going completely broke for a while when you're living on the east coast and spend most of your time inbounds.

i'll probably try to borrow some gear at some point, but my guess is that once the snow really starts falling they'll be skiing much more often and won't want to loan out the gear.

It was... interesting. Very heavy and wet. Fun to get out and move around though.

The upper mountain is looking remarkably well-covered for this early in the season!

i found a pretty shitty layer from the latest snowfall around 6or 7 inches deep. had some considerable slabs break out and promptly went home. this was on friday so conditions might be different now but check yourself.

What was the aspect that was breaking for you?
We saw several south-facing slopes that had released naturally on the same layer, no problems with the more northerly aspects.

Probably mostly a sun exposure issue...?

not sure if this is too late or not, but maybe relevant anyways. fairy lake road is crap. it's muddy at the bottom and up top it's snow/ice slipping around on mud. no fun with worn out all seasons.
