Looks like your having some fun, Workin'...

Here is one Generic pic from today: My buddy Josh, celebrating 8 years of Pizza Delivery. Give a shout out to the Dozamonster if you see him shredding up there.

That's all, gotta keep going during the powder circus hour.

Tommorow's forecast = cold and windy:

WINDS WILL CONTINUE TO INCREASE ACROSS
THE REGION ON SATURDAY WITH HIGH WIND GUSTS IN EXCESS OF 50KTS
    POSSIBLE SATURDAY AFTERNOON

Wonder how slushmans will be skiing...

Anyone out there got some pics?

I met some good local mags lately, Hick and Sirshredalot. Good to meet you guys, we should ski something soon.

Thanks, Joe for hooking up Co. Mag Summit. Definetly a sweet day to show someone around.

One thing that is cool is all the different angles you can shoot photo's from up in the new inbounds terrain.

Here are just a few pics of one area that would be a sweet angle and a cool line in blue bird pow.

Just another grey day though, and now pow in this spot as it had been blasted away. But I hope to see some awesome pics of people sending it up there soon. I would gladly try and get the shot!

Good to be skiing with you guys that day, hope Pnut and Bridger Bro throw up some of their pics from that day as I know some pow got slayed!

Word. Was up with my parents & sis all day yesterday; schlas' rope dropped at 11, but even though I was beepin' I didn't want Lexi to yell at me for not having a partner/shovel so I shouldn't ski slushies. Actually, since I was with my fam I didn't feel like breaking free and yesterday was my first for the season, so no slushies just yet...

went again today and got winded out - we were gonna do a half day, but winds were too high, only thing open was powpark quadzilla. No thanks!

btw got my dad stoked on rossi s6's and mom on some phat luvs...thanks for the chalet boys for treating 'em good, they much appreciated it. Had mom sis and dad on fat skis for the first time and they had a blast.

So, I just started a new thread to try to name and map the new terrain, a la Stepping Up. Check it out, and feel free to submit existing names or suggest new ones. Oh, and add new/better pictures, too.

Why? You can't play in there because you *still* don't have a tranceiver.

    HEADS UP BRIDGER MAGS

I talked to ski patroller Jim Mayo today, and he told me to pass this message along to people I know.

I noticed the new ropeline that blocks people from traversing to the south facing Slushmans ravine area, and I was really happy about that, and I let him know and that it would be great if they did the same at McRib Blah Blah Blah.

    Anyways, he was saying that:

#1. They have had more people cliffed out in 2 weeks than in all seasons combined on the ridge. He was saying that part of the problem are people traversing past the gut of Slushmans and following patrols "Sucker Tracks" into the cliff areas that line the ravine lower down. The patrol has to get into those nasty areas now to do control work, but they have ropes, harnesses, and the whole deal to get them through those areas if they need it. I personally think its great that they aren't letting people traverse like lemmings over there. Not only will it make it easier on them, but now you are rewarded with a better, safer run if you drop in from the top.

#2. This is the important part. Jim was saying that they are very dissapointed at the ettiquite they are witnessing on Saddle. They have seen all kinds of shitshows out there involving people skiing on top of each other in bad spots, getting cliffed out and hiking up, ripping top speed down to the saddle cliffs and barely stopping in time then hiking back up, etc. All during CONSIDERABLE to HIGH avy danger.
So they see all this going down and they are required to report it to the board of directors who are nervous to begin with, and now they are extremely nervous. They are talking about possibly shutting the boundary down, or, worst case scenario, closing the lift to the public. They don't want to wait for a tragedy, they feel they have seen enough stupidity to be taking these things into consideration already.

Jim also told me to relay this message to people. He said that we should call people out who are doing stupid shit, inbounds or out. Like I said in an earlier post, it will be partially up to us to help make the new terrain and adjacent boundary as safe as possible.

May the good Maggots set the example that will get us through this season without mishap!

Nice shots Lars! Shun came screaming past me on D two days ago, I heard him laughing and calling out "so deep!" before I saw him-ha.

I hope everyone plays it safe, the skiing is so good up high right now. Get yer buddy's back everyone.

I held it down in H-gully today, thought I'd post up some BB kid-carnage:

I love those hidden spiny areas in the trees. Finding some pretty cool ones in the "new terrain" eh? It's only 50 inches so that stuff's not prime yet. I discovered a mellower one that goes a long ways....

I sallied out of doing the rock slant pointer chute in Mundy's yesterday. Turns at the top too tight for me right now.

Someone else hit it though. Looked like good snow.

Workin - NICE! The vid of the day needs more POV footage like that!!

I got up to the parking lot around 11:30 and was just about to boot up when someone passed by and said that pretty much everything except Alpine was on wind hold (understandably - it was screaming up there). Hopefully today's quick afternoon snow squalls combined with some more overnight snow will freshen things up nicely up there for tomorrow.

ig - my roommate said the same thing happened to him. I was surprised to hear that because I skied until right around then and it was good snow, fairly still, and overcast. Strange weather.

if you left early today, you fucked up.

it was blowing pretty good, but the fingers were nice. im still getting my feet under me after taking last year off, so i was content to lap the wind buff in south bowl and take a couple hikes. just getting used to riding at speed in variable snow. lines on PK got a little long, but i was riding alone and dont think i waited more than 5 min in the singles line.

at about 2 the wind calmed down and it started to dump. avy forcast is calling it 4 new between 2 and 4. it was deeper in places for sure. bridger opened back up around 2:15, i'm still kicking myself for not thinking to hike as soon as it opened but oh well. i just lapped 3 bears for an hour and a half, getting used ot a little air again and getting my confidence back.

best day i've had at BB this year.

After a 1/2 hour of unsuccessfully trying to get my skis out of my rocketbox in the parking lot I headed home. Took these shots by Olsen creek.

Looks to be a natural slide south of Saddle. Has anybody been digging any pits? We went into the northern Bridgers last weekend to dig around but ended up blowing a clutch thru the sled hood before we got to our destination.

A couple of faraway shots of slushman's.
