Buddy of mine lost a polarizing filter for his camera up there today. We went up along PK lift and veered off towards D-Route. Shoot me a PM on the outside chance that you find anything.
We heard you in our twilight caves, one hundred fathom deep below, for notes of joy can pierce the waves, that drown each sound of war and woe.
It was around 2:30. Last bit of light on the ridge going north. What time of day was that?
Nice Pics Tony! Whats up w/ the new guy getting the most shots

Damn bitches, that looks like it was sweet. Wish I was there.
I dug a pit yesterday on a shady, north-facing aspect just above the top of PK. I found that things were bonded pretty well, but we were able to get about a two foot slab to move. 7th arm drop with a shovel compression test. Hoar on top of an ice crust, I think.
Obviously, it took quite a bit to get it to pop loose, and we skied that slope and felt good about it. Just thought I'd share.
P nut and I found that same rain crust layer in the Northern Bridgers. (See my TR.) Definetly might be sketch depending on what happens here in the next few weeks.
I saw that MAGS HUCK STUFF sign the other day... 'twas hilarious.
Stay left.
I went out yesterday as well! got to the first choke in Sometimes and my girlfriends dog wouldnt dop into the chute. I had to hike out and get over to mad mans so the dog wouldnt shit himself or die. still, good snow none the less,
Lookin' good![]()
Buy the ticket...take the ride.
I came a little when I saw that second photo mildwille, and then I came some more when I realized that the background is inbounds.
That new lift is gonna be incredible. We sat and stared at it for 15 minutes on Saturday. It brings Bridger into the "big leagues" in a lot of ways. Definitely going to change the Bridger experience a lot, and bring in a different kind of skier I think. It has gotta be one of the best lifts in the country. It is gonna be really wierd skiing bumps in No Name (Mundy's) though.
Slarving for a better tomorrow
Those are the best pics yet Mildwillie. I have been over there a bunch this summer and up to PK/fingers skiing this year but man that reallllly brings it into reality. It is finally sinking in, that chair is going to kick total ass.
Not only will lappin be fun but the new access is off the charts.
I'm kinda freakin out right now...
that is all![]()
Ski Fast, Take Chances![]()
OK. I know it's not gonna be the same, but I'm fuckin stoked. Are you guys stoked? If not, this might do the trick:
April'08
April'08
April'08
Jan'08
March'08
Jan'08
I am confident it won't be perfect, but it won't be a total disaster, either. It is what it is, and nothing was going to stop that lift. I know someone is going to be throwing down some sick friggin lines.
And yeah, don't look at those before bedtime.

lol,
sorry my bro told me I talked smack to you on the net a couple years ago or something? I was kind of over Bridger at that point and possibly drunk. In comparison to Alpine Meadows, Bridger is not the most chill ski area in the world but I have always loved it, wanted to ski at least one more year up here with some good friends. Anyway I will gladly give you lessons on how to ski in the backseat if you can get me a copy of that t-shirt.....
Lets keep this thread focused on skiing, you can trash me all you want in person or via pm

So, in case anybody's wondering how we're supposed to communicate where we are out in the vast gnar that is the terrain expansion when things aren't really named, there's a grid with letters and numbers overlaid on a photograph at the bottom of the lift. So if your pal hurts himself, you get to come down there, look at the map and tell patrol, "My pal Jimmy is lying in the snow with a probable broken clavicle at the bottom of that big huck in E-13." Hopefully you won't have to use it for that purpose too much, but I thought it was a pretty clever solution.
That is a great idea. This is why I have total confidence in the crew up there. They are clearly thinking ahead.
Checked out the big mountains on tuesday. Looked sick with good coverage.
Closer inspection revealed that they were windfucked to hell. Not good for skiing purposes.

Good turns up there on Thanksgiving. Beautiful day and the snow had formed a little surface hoar on top where it hadn't been disturbed.
Spotted John Tremann dropping into Never Never Land
If we knew Loverboy skied at Bridger Bowl, we'd be there every weekend
The snowpack has been great - there is about 18 inches of base that is cemented into place, allowing fun turns on all the early season features you normally wouldn't want to go near
