Guy in the Leafs hoody I believe is Gebster.
Also, who was in the white/blue hockey jersey with the orange Technica boots. I think he shot a bunch of pix of all of us coming down Avy 1.
So did Shaggy, but he's en route to Canuckville and should be posting 'em soonish.
Thanks to all who took the time to snappy-snap. I'm a flake on the camera front and will pay it forward one day (when i buy a camera...or perhaps i'll just keep doing those limited edition renders).

That was my favorite part of Dookey's costume, his dad's Bogner pants.

Cinderz is killin it!
I'm glad everyone had such a great time, and I appreciate all the PMs of thanks -- really, all I did was call the date and say where to eat a couple of times.
I think the Mini's are super fun and create major stoke around here. I'd like to propose doing a Major Summit at Mammoth, a real Summit - when the entire mountain is open and there's the prospect of powder. Thinking early March.
Summit's have become so ho hum, not interesting, but we could, and should, bring this Mini stoke to revive the main Summit.

That would be cool, yes...
But one of the best parts of the mini, is you keep bumping into maggots, on the hill, because there are only a few lifts turning.
If the whole mountain had been open, Cinders & I would prolly never have met the few mags we did, and prolly not got the tour from Uber, and Spats, and prolly would not have heard about the hike out to Avi 1.
So keep the Mini, in Spring. Please.
It Rocks (like a boat on the Ocean)![]()
...Remember, those who think Global Warming is Fake, also think that Adam & Eve were Real...
The mini is a spring thing...what would the Mammoth mini be without the beach. As for a summit, that would be great, and while you won't bump into maggots as easily, there is a whole lot more mountain to ski and explore during the regular season, and plenty of maggots to show people around.
When was the last full summit at Mammoth?
I agree it is a constitutional right for Americans to be assholes...its just too bad that so many take the opportunity...iscariot
too hard to get to mammoth in the fucking winter.
^^^Land in Reno...drive south, or land in LA...drive north. What is so hard about that?

And it fukkin ROCKED. Which is why I think we should have a full Summit in Tahoe again. At least the resorts up here, all of them, offered us discount tickets. Plus, it's so close to an airport and there's a greater variety, in terms of the number of resorts, the nightlife, and the overall ease of people attending. Anyone who attended the Tahoe Summit would concur, I believe.
The Lake is really a great place for it.
I'm not just saying that because its close to me.
I've hit Summits in three different countries.
Plus, the Roos would prolly attend.
i always thought the concept behind a summit was to have it in an area with multiple resorts (Tahoe/Summit County/Utah/Jackson/and the like) so as to make it a week long shindig with a variety of options.
also i thought the summit was supposed to be easy to get to.
i can see a lotta folks going "Why would I go to Mammoth, which requires me to fly into Reno and drive 3 hours or fly into LA and drive 4 hours when I can fly into SLC and be at Alta in 30 minutes" or something to that effect.
that said, i've been itching to get to Mammoth when they have snow. thus far i've only ridden Mammy in April and July.
but i really enjoy the whole camping and skiing vibe that the Spring mini offers up. that and Roberto's hella cheap fish and lobster tacos ($14 for 2 with 2 beers is cheaper'n anything of that nature up here in San Fran).
booga-booga!
PS,
I'm all Field of Dreams and shit (if somebody else "builds" it, I'll come).
Yes, oh yes, it did.
And this is why *I* would attend!! Oh yeah!!
Elle Be - I think a major summit in Mammoth is an excellent idea, and I will volunteer to help you organize it if it pans out.
I also agree that it's hard to get to, etc but really when it's Mammoth we're considering, it would be SO much fun and worth it to get there. After all, no one would have to worry about driving around to different resorts and therefore the vibe and purpose of having a Summit (to meet, greet, ski, and party down with other maggots) will be fully realized.
Dookey - having a number of resorts to attend for a summit is great, but with those kinds of summits it's hard to meet up with a big group because everyone is always wanting to go to different resorts and places. With Mammoth, everything is right there...plus backcountry opportunities and even skiing at June Lake not too far away for some variety.

Not surprised that the story of the Tahoe Summit is no longer available on Powder.com, but here's a couple pics from it....

Holy shiny happy people with journalistic capabilities Batman!
You all have the joys and sorrow documented down to the letter.
Looks like a worthwhile trip for sure.
I'd second a summit in SLC in a heartbeat,too.
Those two were off the................(what is it I say now?)
I've been following the TR and pics, thinking I coulda been there.
I was torn between Abasin and Mammoth, and though I chose Abasin, you'll be happy to know, the bros got yet another, taste of Powder dayz.
Damn its tough to choose between two awesome adventures.
Glad to know I can literally live one adventure while virtually living another through great pics.
Great Stoke!
Sometimes you have to let your bad self ski...
