Hmm, due to forecasted high winds, chairs 1 and 6 on Pan Dome may not open tomorrow.

Any beta from xtal from today? I know they didn't get much, but was it a meh 3" or a good 3"?
"Don't tease me about my hobbies, I don't tease you about being an asshole"
Bachelor's 3" was suprisingly chalky....not that I got to ski any of it since I was "one-and-done" with the kids on Marshmallow
they opened Outback today for the first time. Good reports re: the groomers back there.
Made the right call bringing my rock skis up to timberline.
Of course it's flat.
But the groomers were silky and the ungroomed stashes were smooth and fun.
Stood upon a mountaintop.
Walked barefoot in the Snow.
Skied Baker today, it was heavenly! 11" overnight, snowed at least 6-8 more while I was skiing today, unbelievble actually. Opened chair 7 at 9:30, delayed chair 6 til after 10, then you had to follow avy format for the next hour, INBOUNDS! That's right, buddy, pack, shovel and transceiver. It was epic. Someone told me, no idea of credibility, but the present storm system is suppose to bring 50" by Wednesday - that's a lot of snow! God, there are times I simply love baker! And yes, another died off the cliffs to the right of chair 1 yesterday, when will they learn - I was informed he skated under two danger rope lines, and went over - over I believe is about 125 feet or so. Not good!
^^^Shitty news about the fatality... Everybody be carefull out there. We don't need this stuff happening. If you duck a rope know where the hell your going.
50" by wendsday means my weekened is going to be sick!
Stevens Pass Kicks Ass
Meadows was deep if you knew where to look. Wind loaded stuff was 6-10" deep. Wind buffed stuff was nice.
Was pretty crowded, but there was good snow to be had if you looked hard enough all day.
Working tomorrow in order to blow off Monday and go ski.
Some cute ripping chick in a blue jacket kept making eyes at me at lunch and I skied a few runs with her. That was cool.
bio-smear is still a gimp.

Something to keep it mind about skiing right now in the PNW and especially baker is how fucking gnarley it is up there right now with this type of snow pack. I was on hairy scary (the run where the fatality occurred) two days ago and I lost a ski at the choke. It took me a good 30 minutes to belay off trees to get down the water ice. It was so fucked. It is not okay. So the message is: don't fuck yourself. That line is not a line, it's a 200 foot air.
Baker was the plan today but WB also had about 8" overnight. I knew Baker would give up the refills tooHard to complain though, met up with Lee et al and skied blower snow all day from knee to thigh deep in spankys.
sounds like my Monday off is going to be crazy good but I'll have to make that fucking call all over again.![]()

Excellent site to keep up on snow dumps!!
Bah, the coast mountains are getting it all.
We got, tops 15cm, out of that last cycle at Red. We need the snow badly, can't we borrow an epic dump or two? Please? Ullr, you listening?
All kidding aside, it does look good for slow acclumating amounts over the next week. If the dynamics of this current system stay the same, then we should see between 10-25cm on Sunday/Monday, hopefully more.

(I know this is a PNW thread, but the Interior needs some love too.)
Really surprised we didn't run into you, were you on Flood much?
We rocked the trees all day in the new areas. It was surprisingly fun and with some real snow there will be some killer stashes to hit after skibowl gets tracked out.
I can't ski wednesday. I am hoping for a tuesday opening.
The suspense in relation to the storms for this upcoming week is killing me. I know what its gonna do until Wednesday. But NWAC says High Pressure is building in sometime later in the week, (thurs/fri.) Give and take, yin and yan, yada yada yada. So I have no idea and I don't think they do either.
I really hope it starts to precip all the way through the 4th!!!! But I know I won't be that lucky.
My course of action for departure on 12/23 is dependent on multiple factors.
A. Will Red have a great opening and have decent coverage by 12/24? (My projected arrival date. Have to cancel 72 hours before.)
B. Yes Pano has the best coverage. But will they be skunked by this round of storms?
C. And then, there's always the WA Cascades where I could use a couple of my five day passes at xtal.
(I don't have to head to bc interior through the Columbia Gorge.)
So who the fuck knows past this Wed/Thursday. But get it if you can. And like BanditXXX said. Be careful out there.

I skied the new area for two runs. Had amazing, low angle to not so low angle to not bad at all angle, untracked top to bottom. (Took my first run @ 8:45. Walked up to the top of the lift, clicked in, skied top to bottom, and got right on the lift.)
Then I hit all the little pockets I know of around the mountain. Skied untracked, 5-6 " till about noon. Then bailed.
