    Pitch or quality... snow

Do you go for steep pitch or snow quality?

On a pow day at the resort do you look for the gnar or the fluff?

In the BC will you take a scratchy steep pitch or quality corn?

Oh, no "steep and deep", because, duh, that is what everyone wants.

quality over pitch everytime. Mainly because if it is a gnarly pitch wit hreally bad snow I will fall and die, and that is not fun.

Hrm, 30 degree pitch and 2 feet of fresh blower, or 50 degree pitch and boilerplate ice/death cookies?

I think the answer to that question is pretty obvious.

Ummm question is it just super steep and hard pack? Not steep powder isn't really fun I mean its good for a bit but it doesn't scare the crap out of you, nothing like fearing for your life then concuring your fear

for hucking stuff I like powder, or anything thats consistent (and not ice)

Ummmm.... A little bit of both.

I'll take pow on a kinda normal pitch over bumps/hardpack on steep/chutes.

But I'll take bumps and hardpack on interesting terrain over really flat boring crap with some powder on it. It's a sliding scale... really good snow can make up for a kinda so-so pitch... and a really cool chute can make up for less than great snow.

Sorry to rip on spelling, but...

    con·cur ( P ) Pronunciation Key (kn-kûr)
    intr.v. con·curred, con·cur·ring, con·curs
To be of the same opinion; agree: concurred on the issue of preventing crime. See Synonyms at assent.
    To act together; cooperate.
To occur at the same time; coincide: icy sleet that concurred with a forceful wind.
    Obsolete. To converge; meet.

    con·quer ( P ) Pronunciation Key (kngkr)
    v. con·quered, con·quer·ing, con·quers
    v. tr.
To defeat or subdue by force, especially by force of arms.
To gain or secure control of by or as if by force of arms: scientists battling to conquer disease; a singer who conquered the operatic world.
To overcome or surmount by physical, mental, or moral force: I finally conquered my fear of heights. See Synonyms at defeat.

    v. intr.
    To be victorious; win.

AKPM, which one of these is the correct word? I believe you meant "conquering." Again, not trying to be a dick, but you really need to invest in a little man named Webster.

At some nominal level I have a preference for steeper turns but we can easily construct choices where I'll take low angle every time.

If you're enjoying a pow day at the resort is your first run a Warren Miller style noodler on a 30* pitch or do you huck?

I'll take my time and fuck off slowly, thank you.

Depends on the day, the mood I'm in, and the crew I'm with. But, generally, a good combo is in need. If it's not steep enough, and, if the snow is deep, you just won't be going anywhere. And wallowing, of any nature, just plain sucks.

As for the first run, I enjoy a little warm-up, not exactly Warren Milleresque, but at the same time I'm not averse to starting the day with some huckage.

When it is the difference b/t bullet proof and corn or pow and hucking. I would choose corn and pow.

666 is starting to affect those around him though. Went into thunder bowl for a couple laps with hardrider yesterday. We get to the west facing aspect it is 2:30 should be perfect corn. I stop. He decides he wants to continue on to the North aspect to 'ski this big open steep face with the rocks and chutes at the bottom that he skied with 666 a couple days prior'. I ask him, 'wasn't that described as bullet proof in your report?' 'Ya, but it looks good from here, doesn't it??' Well he hikes the extra 15 minutes, I am 200-300 yards away and can here his skis scrape on every turn. The aspect I skied was perfect corn, had enough exposure and still had enough pitch to make things fun.

    Hardrider hearts skier666.

In general, I'll take low angled benches in the trees with pow if the other choice is some scrapy or crusty big balls line.

Twenty years ago, I'd probably have taken the gnarler line so I could dickwave with alacrity.

Depends on the day, what has been skied, etc. I guess I go for an inbetween. I am always looking for a sweet line that is a total thrill ride. If an open bowl with tons of fresh hasn't been skied yet though, I'll definantly fight for the first lines.
