This man speaketh the truth. This is the first season i have managed to get 60+ days in (and that's with school n' college obligations, living 2 hours from the mountain, with mulitple season-pausing injuries, biatch ) and I am just more sad than ever that it is over. I didn't get nearly as much done as I wanted, and I missed some of the best pow days because of my knee.

I want to ski more, right NOW!

I guess I'll see you clowns at Hood in the summer, iffen I can swing it.

Our little Samich is in college now? Where does the time go? Why it just seems like yesterday he was going on his first date.

That's how I'm feeling today. Yesterday the season ended in PC with me at 100 days with another 5-15 likely to come and I can't help but thinking about how much I still haven't done. If I didn't drink myself to oblivion yesterday over unfinished biz. on a scale not seen since college I would surely be doing it today.

must be spring fever. this thread is ludicrous!

GET OUT THERE AND DO SOMETHING - ANYTHING! Take it from the girl who is still restricted to a goddamn indoor bike trainer for another 2 stinking months (and it's been 6 now...). Who cares if you're on 2 planks, one, on a board, a bike, climbing some gnarly face, or on a freaking tricycle, just go play and have fun. I would if I could.

Argh. I feel better now. Thanks .

On the other side of the spectrum...the Colorado crew has gotten at it soooo much this winter, we have 6 or 7 TR's waiting to be posted......Beater crew is absolutely KILLING IT this year. It's tough finding the energy to post a TR from 3 weeks ago, let alone the fucking EPIC weekend we had sat and sun......wow, I'm tired.

Guess Utah is going off hard too! Colorado sucks.

It's your damm fault you know! If you wouldn't have encouraged any baking of any multi-layered dough based dishes we wouldn't be having this discussion.

I got 23 days living 2.5 hours from the mountains and having no money. I should be ashamed, but this season hasn't been too long on the EC and I wrecked my good set of skis in early january .

It seams to me that we need to analyze this persons situation a little more and figure out the best way to deal with it.
bUt the idea of reminding this person what the options are (work 6-7 days a week or be busy to the point of one every 2weeks plus). The free ride cant last forever (as I am currently discovering).

any actual intervention should be involving all the maggot s though.

I'm assuming this is aimed at me. That said...

WTF!!!! I go home for a couple of days for Easter and you bastards post this shite. Prepare to feel the wrath of the Kirkwood linebacker. Bring it Motherfuckers!!!!!

My recent absences have been due to the fact I've been using my Mammy pass the last couple of weeks. I've had uhhhh...a good incentive...to ski down there.

As for not skiing due to laziness, I really don't know how to answer that. I've had to rest my broken body a few days this winter (knee, back, almost broken shin, etc.), other than that there have only been a couple of days off. I did get a late start this season (End of Dec) since work was a complete bitch before I quit. As for number of days, I'm too lazy to count. I'm guessing around 80. Besides, I don't really care. It's like bragging about how much you can bench press or how many beanie babies you secretly bought under the guise of "It's for my baby sister."

As for this winter, I really don't have the words. Eventually I'll post a sort of end of the dream report, but it's a ways off. The season's not even close to being over yet. Some members of the collective are expressing doubt about April storms and I'm constantly telling them to shut the fuck up. If you think it, they will come. If not, the Weed's still open til the end of the month at least and Mammy is going really strong...probably til June or July. My season's far from over. Don't shit on my stoke, ya!

Re: A Maggot/Minion has fallen from the path.

I have an idea of who this may be. I'm torn on what I'd like to say. I have concern too, but more for the person's well being than whether or not all those passes are being used. A person loses interest in activities that were once very important passions. The root of the issue has nothing to do with skiing.

Despite having at least three season passes, despite being unemployed with other means of financial support, and despite easy proximity to world class skiing, this poor soul has failed to live up to the promise of his situation. The season began well enough. Hard snow, soft snow, no snow, lines were skied, stoke was posted, and life was lived near to it's capacity. Recently however, we (this person's concerned friends) have noticed an alarming trend. The number of ski days per week has declined to a frighteningly low number. Rationalizations are being made. "I'm too tired", "The snow sucks", "I'm bored with <insert name of home region>" and general apathy are the excuses given.

Please join me in urging our fallen Maggot back to the high standards of his predecessors in winter unemployment.

A gentleman kisses and never tells...or is that never kisses and always tells...or kisses and always tells...or...

Seriously though. She's a really cool girl and we've hung out a bit together. She's from Slovakia and is spending some serious time traveling the world.

Seriously, you got another two weeks until the play-offs and you better be leading on the up-track and not drafting the desk jockeys.

I better not be "lazy bones" or his friend, biatch. Ive got at least twice as many days as any of the poor career having suckas, on average I ski 5, sometimes 7, days a week. In fact the only reason Im not skiing right now is cuz I hit a tree yesterday and my knee and groin be hurtin. Plus I dont know shit about wilderness type travel so that option's out for me anyway. Also, I have a job in the evenings which is why you wont ever see an evening corn report.

Im most likely not participating in much of the playoffs so I can let my feet start to heal (pun intended).
