    Recent Socal surf

Any mags get any of this swell we just had?
I am in utah for school now, but was watching the surf cams drooling for the past couple of days. Hope you guys scored.

    Lets see some pictures.

Also, thoughts and prayers go out to all those affected by the fires.

    No pix from me.

I stayed at Barnball's in LA on Saturday night after seeing the Silversun Pickups.

We surfed El Porto (well spitting distance) on Sunday morning. On the way back to Santa Barbara, I surfed Ventura Overhead. I'd expect pictures in the next surf magazine from that season due to the rippers out in the water and the apocalyptic lighting. I wanted to hit PCH but the fires had closures.

    I surfed Rincon on Monday.

I'd love to see some pictures from Blacks. I'm certain that was super, super good.

One cool thing about surfing is that you can be out in the line up with some of the best in the world. Picture three in the surfline link is one of the guys I surfed with on Sunday.

Nice. Thanks for grabbing a picture of me. I'm the guy on right side of the pic with the red rails. Did you guys roll up on a jet ski or were you in the grey boat? Great day out there. We left right as the winds calmed down and the sun came out. I would have loved to stay but I was spent.

Ponto was epic. Lots of ash falling in the water, it was pretty nasty. I developed a sore throat and a headache about a half hour into each session. It was really good, though.
I should want to cook him a simple meal, but I shouldn't want to cut into him, to tear the flesh, to wear the flesh, to be born unto new worlds where his flesh becomes my key.

Had a business lunch at the restaurant that looks out at Little Rincon today, was pissed I didn't drive as I would have skipped the meal and surfed. Forgot the camera at the office too. It looked surprisingly fun and only a few guys out. Glassy and the low tide made the best of what's out there now.

Was Ventura Overhead breaking out there on Sunday? Or did you surf Emmawood on the inside in front of the bridge?

    PM Sent.

No, we were done. I was actually shivering towards the end but as I climed into the boat I noticed the water glassing off.

We should have surfed Razors in the morning. We drove by and it was firing.

How was Drake's, Lefts and Rights?

Me and my bud had Monday all lined up but the fires fucked us in the ass. My only consolation is the fact that OB had 4-6 foot offshore A-Frames both days and no crowds from Noon-4pm.

For central and northern CA. Southern CA has been grovelly - I've checked every morning this week. It looks like we should have better conditions soon.
