    DPS Lotus 138 "05-06 vs "06-07

I have been in touch with the people of DPS. Currently, they have is stock '05-06, and '06-07 Lotus 138. As you know, the '07-08 will be arriving shortly.
The '05-06 are $650, and the '06-07 are $910. I was told that the '06-07 model has "significant' improvements over the'05-06. Does anyone know what the differences in the skis are?
I know that the '07-08 is slightly different from '06-07 (The 07/08 is going to have more tip rocker, less tail rocker, better bamboo sidewalls, and a few other small improvements.), but that is not what I'm talking about.
    Thanks.

BTW: The '07-08 price will go up to $950

I had one of the original '05 -'06 138's and got it warranteed for an '06 - '07. My warranty issue was related to excessive topsheet chipping, so one of the improvements between these two model years is an improvement in the topsheet that makes it more resistant to chipping.

Also, the tip shape was changed a bit between these two model years. The '05 - '06 nose was bit narrower if I can recall correctly, whereas the replacemtn '06 - '07 that I recieved the tip is bit more rounded and wider it seems. This is all in the part of the ski that is up off of the snow in the rockered tip.

I think there is a bit more rocker in the '06 - '07 as well.

Oh and I think the '05 - '06's did NOT have bamboo sidewalls. If I'm remembering correctly, my original skis' sidewalls were blank (so some sort of ABS I think).

Not sure if anything else changed.

I was completely happy with my original '05 - '06 pair of skis and the only reason I switched was because DPS offered it to me. Just couldn't pass that up!

05/06 to 06/07 if i remember what ive read correctly
something like more rocker, slightly moved forward tip geometry so its wider, and a topsheet that doesnt nuclear explode upon contact with the edges.

now its more of just a megaton blast.

edit: and as Tyrone mentioned, bamboo sidewalls.

Based on the prices you listed, if it were me, I'd buy the 05/06s or the 07/08s.
05/06 if you want the 138s but can't spend the grand. But it is true, the tip narrows more on these, and the topsheets did chip. Still, that's getting to be quite a good discount from $950.
07/08 if you're going to spend the $900+ anyway, because I think the additional rocker up front and less rocker in back will be great (vs. the 06/07s), and because the 07/08s are black.

    And black is sexy.

You need more skis like you need a hole in your head.

And SFB is not helping much I assume.

also, the 05/06s come with no warranty. i've got some 120s from 05/06 (on the $650 dealio) and the topsheet does chip a LOT but the skis have held up pretty so far otherwise
