what are you doing this summer

Its getting to be that time of year so what are you up to this summer

myself I want to hike Mt Marcy, Whiteface, Cardigan, Mt Berlin, Mt Ranier(NY) Mt Greylock to do some BC scouting and stay in shape and possibly do some overnight camping
For sure, you have to be lost to find a place that can't be found, elseways everyone would know where it was

    Kayak as much as possible
    Landscape (zero water) the backyard
Break 90 on a real course
Get back into MTBing if the water fizzles early (probable)

I'll be living in Jackson. Working for the Director of Retail in Teton National Park.

Lots of riding my bike and exploring the Tetons.

Have fun with the retail thing -- most likely it's gonna suck. Hopefully your housing isn't too shitty either - invest in some mousetraps and peanut butter.

When the Tetons get too crowded for your liking, don't forget there's a shitload of sweet biking/hiking in the Bridger-Teton NF.

yes, i know this...i'm actually not working in the retail shops...i'm on my own, doing merchandising for all the lodges in the park. So i get to meet all the staff and reps, that shouldn't suck.

I've got some friends who will be showing me around, they know of some really good rides, away from the crowds.

Summer kicks off with Western States- working the race this year.

    Hoodfest on July 4th

Then, depending on how things go in the next couple of months, I may be looking for a new job in a new city. So far Washington Univ. (St. Louis), U Dub (Seattle), Yale, and Scripps Research Inst. (San Diego) have expressed an interest. I've also had one strong offer to back into science (Cornell, NY) and a possible chance to work with a former colleague here in Portland.

Hey, AC, when you get bored with the Tetons, check out the Wind River range. Even better, IMHO.

I'll have to stop by and say hi, some friends and I have a permit to climb the grand at the end of august.
Other than that lots of work, lots of mtb'ing, and hopefully a few trips to the uintas and wind rivers.

Clerking in a Mass. family court- should be real uplifting, with the divorces and custody suits and all.

Hoping I make law review, or hoping I don't make any journals at all so I can go to Argentina.

Trying to surf every weekend down in Newport, RI, except when
successfully chilling up on Cape Ann or down on Cape Cod.

Riding the Fells in the evening, unless I'm playing golf in the afternoon.

Getting hammered every night, assuming I'm not hammered by 4:30.

    Grilling.

You know what? This isn't going to suck at all.

    Perfect my golf tan...err....game.
Low 'teener right now, gotta get back to single digits again.
    Lotsa camping with my boy.
Other than that, trying to save $$ for a new house. Plus, it will allow for some new eq for next season.

Gotta get a maggot golf outing going here. I have a couple ideas I'm working on. I'll throw something out there when I have definite answers.

I'm beginning to think that will require my being fired from work. Which sounds like a reasonably fair tradeoff.

Hitting the road April 19th for a long road trip. SLC --> San Diego --> Vancouver --> Jackson Hole --> Detroit.

I'll be stopping plenty on the way and if any maggots are up for day hikes and/or disc golf, hit me up.

3 weeks should be enough, no?

I'll be spending the summer in Michigan with the dog and I'm gonna get myself conditioned for next winter.
