My right shoulder has got a history of injury going back about 8 years. I was dislocating it, tearing muscles or otherwise damaging it a couple times a year till '04 when I got arthroscopic surgery done.

On Friday I did something to my shoulder while playing Frisbee. I just shrugged it off at the time. A couple days later my shoulder hurt, was extremely sore and stiff and I had almost 0 range of motion. It was very similar to how my shoulder would feel after 3 weeks or so in a sling after a dislocation. It was also causing me to lose sleep.

I made an appointment with a physiotherapist and he moved my arm around a bit and told me my rotator cuff was spasming really bad, and I may have acute something-or-other but he couldn't tell for sure, or why. He hooked my shoulder up to the electrical muscle stimulator thing for 10 minutes then put some sticky elastic tape all over my shoulder, made me an appointment for wednesday (today) and sent me home.

Today he hooked me up to the torture machine again for 12 minutes and then sent me home with no sticky tape. All he really said to me was that he wanted to see me again on friday, and to take it easy with my arm.

I'm not expecting him to magically heal me, but I am expecting him to help me. I'm not sure that he has; He doesn't seem to know what is wrong with me. My shoulder joint feels a little better but the muscles around my shoulder blade in the back feel completely fucked. He didn't check out how my shoulder compared to last visit in pain, range of motion, etc. I feel like the little bit of progress i've made is a function of me resting my shoulder.

his appointment book is completely empty too. I'm used to having to wait awhile for an appointment.

I'm also used to having the PT to a pretty extensive examination of my joint and my back, and basically telling me what i should do to help it heal, and what he can do to help it heal. I've never been hooked to the electric thing before.

I've never had to visit the physiotherapist 3x a week. Not even after my surgery. I made quicker progress in healing then as well.

Should I go back to this guy again, or go to a different one, or just see what happens if I leave it? Is anyone here in that business?
