    Rough Remodel Estimates?

The wife is talking about wanting to convert our "mother in-law basement" kitchen into a full size bathroom...

for the last 2 1/2 years we'd been renting out the basement of our house and recently took it over. I've since converted the living room into a large bedroom w/ a wall and some french doors. so now there are two bedrooms and a bathroom in the basement and 2 beds and bath on the main floor.

for the record I have concerns about the resale value of the house down the road if we take out the kitchen, but we plan on being in the house for roughly 10 years. The basement already has a small bathroom w/ shower... but still the conversation has started.

you know where that leads.... but that's the back story.

so I'm wondering if anybody has done a remodel like this - and what they ended up costing.

Depends if you do the work yourself or not. If you hire contractors, you could end up paying $50-75/sf.

Can you send those contractors to me in So Cal??
Here it is an easy $200-$400 per sq ft depending upon what the job and materials are. Maybe a little cheaper if your not installing kitchens or baths.
    Get a few bids.
BTW: most lenders frown on 1 unit properties with 2 kitchens.
Never in U.S. history has the public chosen leadership this malevolent. The moral clarity of their decision is crystalline, particularly knowing how Trump will regard his slim margin as a “mandate” to do his worst. We’ve learned something about America that we didn’t know, or perhaps didn’t believe, and it’ll forever color our individual judgments of who and what we are.
