    Thoughts on 1080 Lab CR

Yeah, I did a search and I found some info, but Salomon has so many overlapping names and models between years that it's hard to keep track of each one. Anyway, thinking about picking up these sticks - they're $240 right now on backcountry.com's outlet, and I just got a 50% off coupon, so $120 seems pretty hard to beat for brand new boards.

I'm not a park guy at all, but my current quiver is lacking for skiing around home (DC). It's either Rossi XXX's (not very good on hardpack, duh), or Stockli Stormriders, which at 192 want to do one thing only - haul ass. Great if I'm out alone midweek, a nightmare on the weekend days w/ not-so-great-skiing friends (aka, non-mags).

The couple of reviews all seem to say that they're pretty stiff for park skis and hold an edge well, which I'm thinking would make them a good choice, since there's no way they're anywhere close to Stockli-level stiffness. The 180 length would be a bit more manageable on those slower-paced, teaching-stuff days, too.

    Thoughts???

    Big E - just FYI,
Your discount code won't knock off 50% from the sale price. It only works from the retail price...and since it's already on sale at 60%, that's a better discount than the code you have. If it were on sale at 30%, your code would bump it up to the 50% level...but not an additional 50% off. Sorry!

I picked up a pair of those skis last year for the helluvit but haven't skied them yet.
    I'm so hardcore, I'm gnarcore.

Current SPK= CR lab with some rivets.

The CRs and Candides never sold well due to being overpriced as LAB skis. Great ski, stiffer and more pop than a 1080 thruster (current 1080). Can't say it's a crazy deal at 240. Good EC ski for bumps and pipe and chewed trees though.

The SPK also doesn't have the Race Base, but the CR Labs were the best ski salomon made, If I'm not mistaken they actually had a wood core.

    Gaahhh, son of a ...

I was thinking that if the item showed up in the the Outlet section, then the discount would work, since it says for Outlet items.

Well, I'll keep 'em in mind then, but much less of a bargain. Unless, of course, you'd like to sell your pair to me at $120.
