Just got off of the phone with him. He had a surprised tone when I told him I had bought a pair of skis off of him about a month ago and that he already cashed the check. His excuse was that the shop has been closed and that's why he hasn't shipped them out. He proceeded to say that he will have UPS pick them up tomorrow.

We'll see what happens.

Call back and tell him don't bother. Your friend will be along shortly, and he will either take receipt of the skis, or make a "delivery" of his own. The choice is his. Don't take any excuses.
