    Quiver - 2 skis only

Every quiver pic or discussion I see dudes have 10 different stix. Thats sweet, but I think there is something to be said for knowing your boards. That....and I have no more $$$.

I have a lotus 138 and B104squad in 189. I like squads, but everybody seems to love the XXLs. I could easily swap out squads if I think there's a reason (they're unmounted) I dont want 7 skis, I want one pow ski, and one for the rest. That being the case, I want the best/most versatile/most bomber ski I can have. It needs to handle any Squaw day I can't ride my lotus. Beside XXL, I've considered Gots, ANTs, Goliaths, and Zealots.

What would you pair with 138s an why ?

    for me itd be a 190 dp120 and a 186LP

id say you cant go wrong with the LP, XXL, or Gotama.

188 Bro is another option, especially with you being in tahoe.

I'd be looking for a ski witch has really bomber construction as you'll be spending more time on it then if you had 4 skis to choose from. Maybe a LP might be more manageable on ice due to the skinner waist? As long as you can ski, handle and mostly enjoy the Squad in all conditions (assuming you've skied it before) then it would be a good ski to pair with your 138's.
    I ski therefore I am.

that's my basic quiver of 2. recently got some XXLs (on the SAC deal) and am not really sure how they'll fit in - i expect they'll replace one of my current quiver rather than supplement it (or I'll just decide I don't need them and sell them)

Explosiv has served me well at Squaw for about 7 years now. My other ski this year is the 193 EHP (last year was an old pair of Rossi Axioms). Two only for me.

That said, I hear good things about the Squad, so you are probably set. One decently fat and stiff for everyday (fast 75 laps, billygoating in C2, palisade straight runs). One progressive ski for racing on the powder days.

    I think you are set.

I like my 189 squads, but they're all but allround sticks. If you're considering any sort of AT, then wailers 95 or 105 are a rad option. otherwise (and for the sake of $$$), I'd think Bros, scott pure, coombas, sugar daddies

Great thread...with great advise. 188 stiff BROs, or 190 Exploders. If you want new sticks, the Mantra is a good choice, as is the LP.

186 LPs, because they are the current best for the rest. There is no snow surface, no speed and no mood they can't handle with style.

My two ski quiver would be 192 G3 el Hombre (or 191 Movement Goliath) with touring bindings, and 186 LP with alpine bindings.

XXL or goliath will be more versitile than the squad.

but really any one compliments the 138 perfectly.

My 2 ski quiver is a little more varied....191 Movement Goliath for most days, and 191 Volkl G3 for ice/groomer days. Also have a 190 Explosiv as a rock ski....That said, I think your quiver looks good. If you don't want the crazy burl of the squad, get the XXL or Goliath....

Not counting rock skis and older junkers I only have 2 alpine skis, Tankers (92mm waist) and Head Supercross Ti (72+/- waist). I like the 90s when there is snow, I like the 70s when there is not, and I like the 20mm difference. To replace either, I don’t know what I’d do. For a fat maybe Legend Pro Rider, Elan 999, or Mantra. For a skinny I might look back to Stockli and try to find last year’s Stormrider XL (75mm). This year’s version, the XXL, is 80mm in the waist.
There's a lot to be said for nowhere.

Both of Marshal's suggestions are pretty fat in the waist as a compliment to your 138s. Good if you want a 100+ waist, but I love my Volkl AC4s and the Movement Thunders look up my alley too.
Frankly, I am down for the 3 ski quiver. Fat pow (138), mid 100ish (Gotama) and something closer to 80ish for slaying the groomers and icy conditions (AC4). I am still trying to figure it out.
    Good thread.
Never in U.S. history has the public chosen leadership this malevolent. The moral clarity of their decision is crystalline, particularly knowing how Trump will regard his slim margin as a “mandate” to do his worst. We’ve learned something about America that we didn’t know, or perhaps didn’t believe, and it’ll forever color our individual judgments of who and what we are.

Thats exactly what my I bought new for this year. Im putting Dukes on both and I am STOKED!! If anything Id trade my squads for XXL's(which Im actually trying to do also) But if Im "stuck" with the squads, thats a pretty sweet quiver nonetheless. 138's anytime its deep, squads everything else, mmm.

Not counting rock or touring skis my 2 ski quiver is similiar.

    186 Pro Riders
    190 Igneous FFF

these 2 skis will do almost everything. I have been at Line 130's and A'lotta's for the wicked sick dumps SLC gets.

    just my 2 cents
