    Crystal closing weekend

Even though I have an ENORMOUS paper that is late and not done...all that I can think about is skiing this weekend. AND seeing as how it is Crystal's closing weekend, I was wondering who will be around? Would love to meet up with anybody who will be around for some turns....lord knows that when this weekend finally gets here I will be in DESPERATE need of ski therapy...ug, back to work...

    Checking in for a
    Yes, Saturday
    Yes, Sunday

Forecast calling for mid-50's and sunshine... I sense plenty of beers on the deck of the Bullwheel. If Southback is open, which it should be (was great last weekend), prolly bring a beer up to the top of pinball and enjoy the view for a while around 2ish Sunday (provided blue bird shows up).

Thanks for the genorosity MBS. Was thinking about either this Sunday or the following Saturday...but I'll be in the sunshine state during Baker's closing weekend. (that is unless you can move the closing weekend to May 1).

How's the snow been holding up on the Arm and Blueberry? Worth the trek?

I wanted to go. But I'm off to the sports med doc to decide why the big swollen bump on the side of my knee has defeated both icing and ibuprophen for the last 15 days.

I'll be at Crystal Saturday and maybe Sunday.
The Southback hasn't been open this week (to my knowledge) and that would be the only saving grace to riding this weekend. Beers at the Bullwheel sound pretty good.
I will know for sure about a plan tomorrow.

Sounds like everyone's up for Sunday. I'm planning on lapping the shiat out of Silver King and Threeway early, some PowderBowls/Bear Pits, then kicking it for the afternoon with the finishing plunge down Exterminator (still can't get over how much that reminds me of Rustler at Alta).

Sunday 12pm bottom of Chair 6, anyone?
Or is base of REX the preferred spot?

    well that's gay

I fly in saturday (the 10th) wayyyy late at night...been out 45 days. Don't think I'd be able to make it up on sunday, unless I really hustled to unpack my shit...hmm.

Crystal was SUPPOSED to be open for another week. What's up with this closing early bullshit?!?! Spring came too early.

    man, this sucks...

Weekdays have been soooo slow and no business, they were having a hard time getting employees to show up for work, or something to that nature (along with losing money, I'm sure).
It's not that they didn't want to go until the 18th (and easily could), but with no skier traffic- mgmt. made a decision to close a week early. (I'm bummed, too- but there's always Alpental or Baker that weekend).

May is pretty full for me, although the first two weekends will likely be in Whistler. Anytime after June 1, I'm game for some hiking any weekend.

At the rate it's going, they need only have waited another week or so and not had to plow it.
