I just got spanked by some dude 42-10 playing 3 minute quarters. Jesus, this is embarrassing. Maybe I should consider playing with a team other than the Raiders...

Can you use custom plays and routes on xbox live?

I bought an xbox 360 when Halo 3 came out and havn't had the chance to stalk up on games/get live yet.

I'd assume so, if you can throw them into your playbook, then sure. I'm playing on a PC, so I'm not certain though.

you need to audible.
Can you play with your set audibles? If you can on madden '08 for xbox live you must find the audibles that work for your team in certainy situations.
1. Linebacker blitz
2. Corner blitz
3. Run blitz /overloaded the side you are running to
4. 3-4 zone blitz

Play a lot looking to recognize these defensive actions and work on audibles that take advantage of the weakness of these defensive actions.
For example if a corner or db blitz audible into some 3 wide reciver set where your running back is a reciever, send him to the side with two recievers and change his route to a fly pattern. THis will isloate him on a linebacker- and lob the pass...normally a great completion. IF you are playing a good player and he changes to a two deep zone ( the only good defense) then you can hit any of he underneath routes...

On defense you need to figure out what scheme works for you. Personally I play a ton of nickel 3-4 zone blitz because I like the blitz/2 deep zone packages these defenses offer. Once you get used to a scheme you will know where your players are and consequently will be much better able to judge how to respond to offensive tactics.

I could go on with more specifics but i don't enough about know madden 'o8. My game was ncaa....and unless you want to know how to defend the option or the shot-gun spread that's all i have
