    I am envious of your 198 120s.

except that I thought I'd be a little undergunned on the 198s and got the 200s instead

You know the game, match em up or suggest an alternative.
    Because, hell, why not?
I think we're all missing the point. You've got 2 pairs of skis and 3 sets of bindings; obviously the solution is to buy another pair of skis.

    But which ski to buy...?

    right?
    Ding ding ding - Winner!!

No more holes in the Lotus until you know what you want.
If Duke is for you, then you can remount the Lotus with another Duke you bought from selling the 916s.
    Kill all the telemarkers
But they’ll put us in jail if we kill all the telemarkers

I've got the same two skis in my quiver and this is my take.

My 120's are mounted with Dynafits and have been my go to touring rig for the last season and a half. I've been fighting groin/hip flexor issues the last few years from breaking trail with big skis so this is the biggest that I'm willing to hike on a regular basis.

I've got a pair of Dukes to mount on my Praxis that I intend to use as my snowmobile rig. The only reason I went with a Duke over an alpine binding is so I could wear my AT boots. I just don't see myself slapping skins on these and putting in the kind of vert that we typically do in a day. Could I keep up? Probably. Its just not worth hurting myself.

Interesting. The PraXis are here (holy mother of god are they sweet looking!), and although the general consensus is to put the Dookers on the Praxi, now I'm not 100% sure anymore.

This ski is burly and big, and I really want to slap a top notch binder on there.
Of course, the Duuk could turn out to be that, or not.

Maybe the thing to do is to Dookie on a regular ski first, like my used Goats or the new Districts (particularly since those two are really close to each anyway), and see how I feel about them after putting some real time in. Then, depending on the results, I can either move the Dookies to one of the big skis, or sell some bindings and buy a second Dookie for the big ski, leaving the Got or District mounted up.

Hate moving shit around though. Although the Gots weren't mounted quite perfectly in the first place, so it wouldn't be a terrible thing to remount anyway.
Hmm...binding question #101408 then is: Gots with p14s and Districts unmounted, which do I Dookie on? The Districts have a lower profile tip, much more pop, and not a full twin. They're definitely a jibbier ski (has me thinking p14s), but they are also lighter, with a flatter tail, and a little shorter. The Gots are predictable, I know where to mount them, but they're heavier, with a annoying full twin for skinning, etc.

Oh hell, whatever. It's gonna be FUN FUN FUN no matter what I do.
Ultimately, it doesn't really matter, I'm just stoked to ski, on any boards!!!

    Bring on the season!

dukes on districts. that way if you don't like either for any reason, they are easy to sell, or switch around later.

if you like them both, then sweet, and you can move the bindings around from there.

and i'm happy tou mount you whenever.

you would be, soy boy. Didn't you just get married? What was that, just for show? Jeezuz man, I'm engaged - I can't believe you're hitting on me this publicly.

    Heh.

Seriously, I think so too. Duke's on Districts, let's see how the new products perform. You mount them, and I'll pitch in with a relatively early review of both (along with beer/payment, etc).

    It's a date. Er...it's a plan.

CN, Now that you have the Praxis in hand, do you think you'd sack up and skin on them? That's the big question.
I don't think the skiabilty of the Dukes will be in question very long. Its the hiking part that concerns me. They are stout. I'm down to a pair of Spirit 4's as my only pair of ski boots, so I felt like the duke was the only good choice for my praxis.

    well...let's see...

    1) underfoot is flatter and longer than I thought it would be, that's a +

    2) similarly, the reverse sidecut is really not much to speak of underfoot either, that's a +

    3) they are not as light as the Loti, but, they're really not that heavy either, that's a +

    4) they are fucking hudge, could be a -, but if you don't sink at all, what snow will you be carrying? +/-

    5) they are so wide, I would not personally put a Naxo or Freeride on the. But a Duke? Maybe. +/-

So, conclusion? Yes, I can actually see skinning on these for 1 hour tours, and up to a half day of laps.
Which is a big positive step from where my head was before I had them in hand.

For you, so long as it proves out, I think the Duke is definitely the right choice.
Particularly so since it lets you wear the Spirits, and AT boots are SO far and away better for riding a sled and for hiking.
And you might even find yourself skinning on them at some point.

For me? I'm leaning towards the 120s as the *primary* touring rig.
Even if someday the Praxis do get Dukes, the shocking lightness of the 120s is just too great.
So, I've come to the same place as you - the 120s for touring first; the praxis, maybe.
If I didn't have the Lotus'? Yeah, I'd tour on the Praxis for sidecountry and shorter tours.

Sweet. Can't wait to see my skis. Too funny that I've got dukes and no praxis. You guys got Praxis and no dukes. Is someone fucking with us or what?
