    from Brighton

    just read this from brighton:

Just wanted to inform everyone that you can all thank the 4bi9 ski crew for putting an end to preseason hiking at Brighton. They have vandalized our property up at Snake Creek & therefore we have revoked the privilege of preseason snowboarding/skiing for good.

You can personally thank them via the following links for email, web, & myspace:

Who cares? Just yell at them.

I find it pretty hard to believe that any of the craptastic facilities at Brighton could've been wrecked by some stoners fucking around, but yell at them anyways, it always makes you feel good.

What if it was someone else that thought it would be cool to tag 4bi9 to get them in trouble? I'm just an outsider here but if your putting links to all there sites I hope you know for a fact that they did it. Anyways whoever did it dosn't care for our sport and should be punished. Not everybody.

IMO the onus is on Brighton. If they are sending out notices that implicate 4bi9, it is they that are resposible for the fallout, should any occur.

If Brighton knows who did it, they should sue them or press charges, not tell everyone else to stay off their property. Is it even their property? I assume it's a FS lease. Don't those come with some sort of public right of way?

    Hey guys.....
You may have jumped to conclusions a little too early. The people actually in 4bi9, all if it's riders, filmers, etc. found out about this via everyones hateful e-mails. Sure 4bi9 comes off as pretty amateur, but we know what to do, and what not to do. I was told 4bi9 was spraypainted on some of the rails, but the thing is it wasn't done by anyone in the actual company. We have no clue who did it, but we're taking an awful lot of flak about it. I was also told that there was Technine and Armada written on some of the stuff as well? Why would we even do that, when we have no affiliation with either of those companies what so ever.

If Brighton knows who did it, I would love if they told us, or announced it so we didn't have to take all the blame for a miscommunication and rumors. And just because it says 4bi9 doesn't mean that only people associated with 4bi9 Media can write those words. Anyone of you could walk up there with a can of spray paint, and tag 4bi9 on everything. Who will every one associate the damage with? Us, because it's our company name.

Also, as someone mentioned above and as you've seen before, our company isn't exactly the most popular group of kids in the Wasatch. There are tons of people who hate us, as well as tons of kids who are stoked on what we do. Either of those people could have done it thinking "Wow... I want those clowns to get in trouble" or "Wow.... they'll be stoked if they come up an see their logo on a rail."

So, in the end I just want you guys to know that we're more legit than that. We were actually trying to work with Brighton this year as far as passes for filming. We're smart enough than to vandalize their property. So, I guess there isn't much else to say, except please know all of the sides of a situation before letting everyone know about it.

    Thanks,

    Rich Fahey

Also, if anyone can give me the link to where they found this information, that would be great. I'm kind of distraught that Brighton, a pretty large company would be so childish as to point fingers, before they even know what is going on.

    Thanks,

I was up at Alta last year hitting a couple rails. I watched a kid scope out this wooden handrail on the side entrance of the Snowpine Lodge. He figured he could get up on the roof, take the ten foot drop off the roof and land sliding down the rail. He climbed up, gave the "3...2...1... dropping," for his camera man, and sent it. He landed perfectly on the rail but the thing snapped and was torn away from the stairs, the rider discarded to the snow beside. "Oooh, gnarly," or some such response came out from his camera man. The kid was OK. No one ran, they just went back to the other, less gnar rails and kept going like nothing had happen.

    That's some fucked up shit.

Unfair to 4bi9 if it wasn't someone "officially" affiliated with that crew (which is in itself a questionable concept) - yes. Unreasonable to ban uphill traffic on private property with that kind of blatant disrespect going on? I say no.

    Hey guys,

thanks for all the reasonable responses. Rich said it all pretty much.

I would like to add that there was other respect going on at Brighton, all of it last season. Evidently all of the windows of the dump truck were broken, and it was dented from people riding on it. Lots of trash was left all over the place, and a rail was broken. All of this that happened last season was bad, and this vandalism was the final straw.

All of 4bi9 loved the preseason at Brighton as much as anyone... I personally didn't get to hit the rails at all this year before they were chained up. Lucklily, there has been enough snow to do other things recently.

Once this is all worked out, I'll make sure that an update is posted in this thread to let everyone know the whole story.

    Thanks,
    Trevor Woods

Does pre-season jibbing also encompass hiking the rest of the mountain?

EDIT: Also, this sign doesn't look very credible to me. I know it's trivial, but the grammar's not completely correct, and there's no legal jargon.

Clueless emo jibbers don't speak leagalize and very few lawers speak jibbenese.
The rest of the mountain is forest service land although when the start making snow whose snow will it be?
