Nice Toast! Everyone I know who's ridden one of those has loved it. I love carbon and all but I have to admit there's a certain peace of mind being on a heavy, metal bike these days. Three weeks till we fly into Geneva bound for L2A for our first week, can't wait!

Forgot to add, yeah looks like the Lady's kicking some serious ass!

Nice! We'll be gone by then, but I can definitely give you a hit list for good trails.

Awesome, much obliged. Are you leaving the country or just moving locations? We'll be in the L2A area from 8/7-8/12ish, then Tignes/Les Arcs from 8/13-8/16ish, Albertville 8/16-18ish, then Tanginges (Les Gets, Morzine) till the 26th. We have a van and are staying down valley in a lot of spots to save money. Means we'll also be within striking distance of several areas for day trips. After that we head to Switzerland for a few days to meet up with family.

We're leaving the country; I think we're leaving 8/10, so we'll just miss you.

Did some fun lift assisted "backcountry" pedaling yesterday. Awesome trail and tons of fun euro jank. Some properly steep stuff too.

Guess it is my turn. Deer dove into my bike.

Bike seems OK though... once the wheel blew up, the pressure was released and it just pivoted around the steerer. Rack might be compromised or might be ok(will have to disassemble and see if it needs new base plates).
    Amazingly car seems untouched.

Oof. That's a bummer, but seems like it could've been worse. Hopefully it just ends up being the wheel.

Need advice on how to get bikes to the alps….we’ll have limited flying space given all our other shit needs to go.

Yeah, the kids were super psyched on that trail. It's pretty much the most epic location for a green flow trail I've come across. Didn't hurt that at the end of the ride, I left the kids with mom and got a 5,500' descent back to town.

Re: flying bikes. I have no tricks other than to cram bikes into a bike bag and hope the airlines don't fold it in half. And thoroughly check the airline's rules for bikes. We flew westjet out of Canada, and they allow bike bags to weigh up to 100 lbs (!). That made things easier.

Anyone have outside-the-bike-park recommendations for rides in the Dolomites? Gonna do the Sellaronda, but looking to get off the busy stuff on other days.
