Biking is still great for me if I can figure out how slow down. Had some dark moments between this winter and spring though. Fuck. Just bought a WRX and sold my truck to buy a Van. At least things are looking up now!
Good to hear you are on the up and up! The back injury is kind of a life changer I would imagine. This is a weird age for people like us, I'm trying to adjust and go forth gracefully but I'm not so sure that it's working. I think finding the balance between keeping it sort of safe but still enjoying these sports is going to tough.

Like you said when I rode with ya in Sedona, I wish I had done this school thing years ago. Now I'm beat up, tired, in deep debt, often grumpy/crusty and just trying to survive the school thing. I'm jealous about the van, I really, REALLY want a van too. Congrats!

I did the same ring finger a few years back, this time the healing seems slower. I keep em moving but during the first week and a half they weren't very movable. It was aching like a soab! Motion exercising now actually feels good. I did an AC separation about 7 years ago, that was a painful one too. This last crash kind of re-tweeked that injury as well and my whole left arm is very sore.

With some beta from danadog (thanks man!) we had a fun ride at Emerald Mountain in Steamboat. Miles of buff downhill pump tracking to enjoy; fun stuff.

Hey mom, were you up there on Friday?

I've been riding that place for over 10 years and that was by far the best conditions I've ever been on. A quarter inch of hail does magic over the following hours

Yeah, I was up there Friday, Sat, and Sun. I hope we haven't seen the last of these summer storms.

Mammoth. I wouldn't show up without letting you know.

You want me to start calling you mom now? Is that what I'm hearing? That's pretty weird man.

Decided to take my camera out with me on a ride on the CO/WY border yesterday morning... the trail is called Soapstone Prairie, about 20 minutes north of Ft Collins. Not much in the way of hardcore MTB, but the views are beautiful and there's no one around.

A couple of shots from last night at the Jackson Hole bike park on a Diamonback hardtail meant for beginners that is actually super fun to bike park on. Captain Fuckin' Crazy Eyes myself puttin' in time for the review of the review of the review, although I'm not sure I've eaten enough cookies in the range to offer any valuable feedback:
