I was 5 hours of saddle time doing both sides (60mi, 5800' climbing), but honestly the west side is the best side and I'm probably not going to ride the east side again.

West side only is about 2 hours to the top for me (or like 1 hour at pro speeds) plus however fast you think you can blow through a 3k descent followed by 4-5 miles of flat.

I got the down in ~20 minutes which I guess put me in the top 10 for the year on Strava...but my gravel gearing spins out at ~26mph so the whole thing is just aero tuck and trying to stay off the brakes and out of the way of tourists on ebikes. That said, I'm not sure how much I'd pedal even if I had a big ring...feels pretty sketchy hurtling down the road on a tiny bike in the upper 30s.

Glad to be out riding with the missus after she went through six months of chemo. Still less than six months ago. Beautiful spring this year.

Was windy up high today. That tree wasn't there on the first lap, yikes.

That's awesome! I think I met her at one of the enduro races last year. Seems like a fantastic woman, and glad to hear that she's getting out for rides.

Thanks, guys. She’s doing better than she gives herself credit for. She has some lingering neuropathy and vestibular issues that make some technical riding more challenging than she expected. We’re at Silver this weekend, which is a place that highlights that. Still, she’s getting better each day, and looking forward to riding more. She’ll be at all the races again this year. She loves the community.

I wish I took some more pictures here, but this will do: yesterday was wet and dry at the same time:

Deep, deep moon dust with a day’s worth of soaking rain on top. People were filthy, and getting covered in alternating dry dirt and mud.

I went out about 3 hours later for a last run tape check, and this is what my bike looked like afterwards. No bike wash needed.

I’ve never ridden dirt like that. It was epic.

My kid and I got out to Dodge Ridge yesterday. I thought it was in great shape.

Kid went over the bars and face down into the dirt, so we took a breather. They nailed the rest of the trail.

This was our second time there. I like it. Mostly technical riding. Loose and rocky. No lines. Chill vibe. Enough to keep me interested all day long. Will get back there next summer.

One of my new favorite trails (PhD in Pemby) from earlier this month... perfect conditions, super fun crew.

And probably my favorite trail in Whistler, Bush Doctor:

    ^^beautiful pics.

Went up the north slope of the valley today. After the pavement ends, 3000ft climb on 50% nightmare rutted roads w/large crushed rock, 50% dreamy compacted dirt, sand, gravel.

I should stop in more often. For better or worse they're not open early enough to be a temptation when I drive past on my way to work.

    So jelly, toast!

Date ride at Snowbird yesterday with AC. Just a hair under 3k of vert with an average grade of 15% and she topped out in 1:40. Not bad for a mom that will turn 45 in a few months.

Dan the kid looks more like you every year. Nice strategy putting him on a girls bike, like a boy named Sue, hahaha! I bet he backs it up well.

Toast that sucks balls, good luck getting it sorted out!

Hah! He actually moved up from the XS, but someone happened to have the exact same frame a size up for a great price. I should get some Santa Cruz stickers for it.

Sure is. Close to 20% right there.
