headed up the hill to check out truckee yesterday.

if you climb a1 (burro) to jackass (donkey town) it’s 99% ridable. if you climb the spur road, the last 1/4 mile is hike a bike thru slush. spur road not recommended.

the berms are smooth, the cg is packed, there are no braking bumps, sand traps, or dust. pretty much prime tahoe conditions.

    thank you truckee dirt union!!!

Glad you had funtimes, but this whole thing makes me sad that the snowpack is that low.

it's the new normal. i miss skiing, too. my fondest memories as a teenager/young adult were times spent on the snow.

2022 San Diego Mtn Biking Assn Archipelago ride was yesterday. 52mi, +5,900, connecting a bunch of islands of singletrack with as much dirt as possible.

Cool cloudy conditions. I'm told over 700 riders this year. But being a sweeper for one of the sections I probably only saw 20-25 of them. Pretty empty trails just the way I like it

Sweeper team 2 rolling into La Costa

Mike brought a garbage can on a pack and was picking up trash along the way. Darrel snapped a D-hanger so chain and rear D conveniently went in the bin temporarily. His wife drove up and delivered a backup bike for him.

Trails are super green right now

Testing out some mini panniers on the rear rack of my bikepacking setup. Pretty happy with them, and riding with no pack or waist pack yesterday was very nice.

    Crosby switchbacks

Those who tried to ride through got wet feet

Green but not a ton of flowers this year. Santa Luz

"Secret" waterfall that a lot of people ride right past without noticing

Dukes of Hazzard style crossing replaced the Eagle scout rope bridge that washed out. Sadly no one was around to get an action shot : )

    Great day on the bike

Is that a pumptrack, skatepark bowl, or both? That looks sick and hilarious to hit on the road bikes.

Fun ride w/ my daughter yesterday, she's getting pretty good, but still can't seem to get her bike all the way off the ground. @50lbs and bike around 23lbs suppose that's gonna happen.

    Ah, well done!

I have a buddy who dropped into a quarter-pipe on his drop bar gravel bike, but no video unfortunately.

Nothing like the past couple of pages of bike porn but was able to get out on 2 quick rides before another huge dump of snow. Will be another 2 weeks or so before I’m back out. But love the new Tallboy.
