    Went out for a ride a couple days ago and ended up building a new rock feature. The top of this hill has some cool rock slabs and there were already a couple alternate lines.

    Original climbing line

    Alt descending line

    New roll built a couple months ago

    Line we built is a steep boulder roll into 90* turn with another roll right after. Exits into the alternate line in second pic. Sketchy at first, but easy after a couple go's.

    Success

    Connecting with the original line up top

    That is awesome.

    @TAFKALS: when that snow melts...

    Rained hard the last few days. Water was so dirty at the mouth of the river, I thought I was in Boston. Fresh snow in the Daks looked nice. Click image for larger version.

    Dirt is in the goldilocks zone in the PNW now. Found some real cool trails nearby some better known trails that were logged a couple years ago. a couple natural 50' skinnies built on giant fallen old growth trees so there was like 2' flat on top making it cool and not sketchy haha.

    Olly was stoked to get out in a nice 52F forest with pillow soft loam for the paws. Wasnt as stoked on the quarry spall logging roads haha. Logging is a triple edged sword- it allows us land to build cool trails, but logs them out and destroys said trails... but also creates phenomenal views.

    Fun to link up the natural trails on one side of the valley with the flowier shaped trails on the other side in one ride. Must be making progress as it felt like I could actually ride (not just survive) this trail this time!

    Won't be hitting the gaps any time soon haha!

    The pain train is leaving the station. Spent 45 minutes at HR threshold. So not used to these speeds, it was like a Crit race. First group ride since the before times. Feels good to be fully vaccinated.

    That place is heaven to this east coast flatlander. First time there I was out of my league and it was a tough but very memorable day. Second time there loved pretty much every minute of it. Looking forward to a third visit one day.

    It makes perfect sense...until you think about it.

    I suspect there's logic behind the madness, but I'm too dumb to see it.
