    Sweet bike!

I kind of want one, but will probably wind up with a hei hei instead. Once I finish paying for the new road bike anyway.

Got back on the horse and raced last week, actually felt and did alright after a few slow riding weeks and too much beer.

The next day I went on the "solstice" ride. It's a big loop that spends a lot of time climbing dirt roads, then you ride a few miles of single track and drop back into town. Worked out to 60mi and 5300ft from my house.

    We came from down there

John spent the last week up there clearing the trail so we could ride it.

I probably should have taken some better pictures of the actual trail. The view of the bitterroots was pretty good in a few places

I could not afford, even with a substantial discount, the hei hei with 27.5 wheels, but I would maybe have gotten that if I could. or maybe not.

The process 134 is a blast! and a dropper post is a life changer.

Up Miller creek, along the miller divide trail, down into pattee. It's a long way out there, and a long way up. We left at about 4:45 and it was after 10 coming down moz.

I have my eye on the carbon 29" version, and yeah, it is a little pricey. Owner of my LBS had one, and I would have bought it if I had the cash at the time last fall. A friend wound up with it and I'm jealous. He does have a devinci django 29 now that is pretty sweet. My hardtail and new road bike are both his hand-me downs, it's nice being exactly the same height as the guy.

I need to figure out a way to get down that way and ride with you guys. Not sure when/how that would happen, but it sounds like the are a bunch of fun ride to do down in the Missoula area.

That specific ride is probably not worth coming down for since we didn't hit the singletrack until about 4 hours after I left home, and the bit of the miller divide singletrack we were on is only about 4mi long.

But yeah, there's some fun stuff around. I tell myself I need to get out of Missoula more often to ride, and then hardly ever do. I guess it's just easier to roll out the door than pack everything up and drive somewhere. I still haven't even gone to helena to ride. I was planning on racing the seeley lake 55 mile thing next weekend but don't think I'll be back from Canada by then. I'm in Lethbridge working on a backyard project for the grandparents. MTB riding isn't that great but there are some trails in the river bottom area. And I've been road riding a bit, it's mostly straight, flat, and windy.

Going to crowsnest pass for the 1st with my sister, she has some friends with a place out there. Bringing the bike, should be able to get a ride in tomorrow at least.

This is the upper section, a bunch of big berms and some table tops and doubles. Then it drops down into a rooty steep section. I meant to walk farther down to take more pictures today but we were up there pretty late and had to go up to the top to drop off the tools. The trail was not the shortest way to the beer cooler from there.
Proud looking build! Nice one. From one trail builder to another.......thank you for your efforts!

I suck at remembering to stop and take scenics. I'm much better at lingering at trail intersections.

    Especially if there's free food.

Big ride, hot AF parade, party with friends, and a nice end to the day.

Remind me. We'll send him a red cap and a Speedo.

    Shasta town trails are fun.

It's a good thing the thimbleberries weren't ripe yet, otherwise a 1-hr ride could have easily become 3 hours. Did find a couple that were ripe, holy shit those are good eating.
