Taken this afternoon/evening during the golden hour just south of Ft. Collins, on Bobcat Ridge. We rode for a few hours on a Sunday afternoon, and didn't see another soul out there. That Powerline climb sucks, but if it keeps everyone away on the weekends, I'm all for it.

It's foggy and cloudy, I won't bring the camera. Wish I had, the colors in the forest were unbelievable. Managed to get a few with the phone at a spot where we could slow down a bit.

Shasta area riding is good and getting better.

Never seen a trail do this before:

Nice. It would be nice to ride there one day when it isn't inches of moon dust. If you can get a shuttle up to Deadfall Meadows and ride Deadfall Meadows to Sisson Callahan I highly recommend it. 4,700' descent, or 5,500' if you tack on a side trip to the summit of Eddy, which I also highly recommend.

Rad! Next time. We rode the Gateway trails on Saturday, hit the McCloud for some cliff jumping, then did the DH trails down from Bunny Flat on Sunday. First time riding up there. It had rained some time last week, so the trails were in decent shape (not great, but not full moon dust).

If you go back to post #2472 in this thread I posted some shots from that ride when we did it in August. A+ backcountry riding.

I only took my road bike up there, but there is some fire road action too from what I understand. There are a lot of trails on and around Tam, but you probably don't want to get caught on them on a bike. Which isn't to say that they can't be ridden...

    Long ago and far away....
    The Place: Mt Tam
    The year: 1974
    The occasion: Hiking with girlfriend
The happening: Bicycles flying down hiking trail, 8 or 9 in one bunch. All the bikes were coaster-brakers, some with front caliper brakes and wailing straight down the fall line. The last bike was ridden by the smallest of the kids (ages 13 -17, just a guess). That bike flew past us an arm's length above my head...I was standing and was 6' tall at the time.

Yes, there are places that can be ridden on Mt Tam, or flown, as the case might be, but I don't know about any rules and regs that may have been or might be in force. I suspect that Edgnar knows the drill

Gotta wonder if the names of some of those riders were Gary, Joe, Tom, Charlie, etc.

I was there 10 days ago. Fucking awesome place. I enjoyed driving the support vehicle as much as riding, one can do no wrong there IMO.

    ^^^^^^sick! Where's that?

Last night, at the local spot, I saw three rats, two skunks, one owl, this oddity below, and not a single other rider or hiker. I'm a dad and drive a desk, so I ride at night as much as during the day - something to be said for quiet and empty trails...

    sproing!
