This isn't from a ride but a few of us have been working on rerouting some shitty old fall line trails here in Flagstaff. I pin flagged a few miles this past week and found some nice POI's (Points of Interest) to incorporate into the layout. I really like this turn up against this rock outcropping here, it's got a pretty nice view from it.

Blah, just another wet, rainy, overcast, average day in the PNW. Rains all the time.

I've been recuperating for 4 weeks from a nasty fall into rocks onto my ribs, nothing broken, but sure hurt like hell. Feels so good to get out on the bike again. Fall colors in the underbrush with Panchosdad on Phillips Ridge.Click image for larger version.

Looks fucking awful. I don't understand how you can last another day in that daily drizzly hellscape.

The upper stuff is perfect hardpack with only one or two puddles anywhere. The GGP trails are very sandy - driest and deepest I've ever seen em.

I ride up there Tuesday nights (with a bright light) and usually one other midweek day. Wanna join sometime? PM me for a good time in a dark forest.

^^ I've seen some of the greatest shrooms on the trails this year. Great colors and some crazy shapes.

Totally, there is this sea sponge looking shroom out there, that I've never seen. It's big and totally looks like a sponge. Trippy

Glad you found some of the goods around the trails we frequent. Looks like you found our central (Military Reserve) trails just fine. What'd you think of Bogus' ATM trail? Pretty good flow, although they need more trails up there (which are in the plans). We are really pretty lucky to have the caliber of trails we do around here. Next time you are in town let me know and we'll go find more of those fun trails for you.

    this thread always delivers
"fuck off you asshat gaper shit for brains fucktard wanker." - Jesus Christ

See, that's the proper distance a roadie should give so drivers have enough room to get around you.

Deal and deal We only did the first 1/3 of the ATM trail after the wife bailed off the side of the trail down the embankment. Getting up with a smile "I'm all right!". But then we were not past 1/2 way so we turned around and went backwards the way we came.

But from what we rode, it was really great. Great flow, lots of fun challenging sections, a great trail for almost anyone except the hardcore Enduro and Downhillers. Well actually most of the Enduro crowd would probably dig it too.

We did Eagle Bike Park the same day and I raced a bunch of kids around the pump track about 10 times until I was smoked and they were just warmed up

There were a few I would really like to check out as a route next time ...

Starting up at Bogus Basin with Eastside Trail #120/ and then on down to Sweet Connie #77/ and then maybe down to Peggy's Trail.

I didn't know where to start so we just hit up Trailforks and headed to a few trails we could see were nearby.

And the real cool thang .... The local taxi company has vans and for less than $25 US they will load a couple of bikes up and shuttle people almost to the top of Bogus Basin.

Bitter Creek Ale House has the best wings and burgers. I even bought the t-shirt! Best chicken wings I've ever eaten.

We were there for 4 days and got in 2 outings and the rest of the time we enjoyed the Riverside Hotel. Which was awesome.

Especially the morning and Sunday Brunch buffet was something for all gastronomic enthusiasts to behold.

Heck ... I'd move to Boise if I could. The place is awesome. Just put up a sign as you enter the city "Nothing here ... just move on" and keep it the way it is.

And then when I was at Costco I even got a photo of the Mayor wearing his fancy Spiderman socks.
