Two triggered slides on Loveland Pass

Saw one on idiots cornice... looked like somone skid solo and triggered a narrow long wet slide. Tracks out were *barely* visible through the binocs. A snowboarder triggered another long narrow wet slide on the East Summit side just after the first hump on the ridge to Pt 12915 (where that cornice usually is). Considerable danger today for that area according to CAIC... scary.

3 people skied the bowl between Grizzly and A-Basin... wow... they skied it late late in the day accesing it from A-Basin/Zuma/Chihuahua bowls. Scary shit.

Just ramblin off what I saw on my drive back from Denver.

This suprises you!?! There are constantly more punters up on Loveland than I can believe. Prolly at least 2/3 of the wankers up there don't have a beacon, and from my drives over the pass, about half don't even have a pack, shovel, probe, water. i.e. NOTHING but their board(s) and their radness, bra!! Very high percentage of clueless bastards. Avies only happen to other people right? I look at it as natural selection. Clean out that gene pool fer crissake!!!

No. It doesn't surprise me in the least. I still do get surprised at some of the stupidity I see there but this is all pretty basic.

There are some days and places to ski on the pass where slides are virtually impossible and avvy gear is unneeded. But 99% of the offenders don't know when and where this applies.

I think your numbers are generous. I think maybe 90% of Loveland Pass users don't *have* much less wear becaons and ditto for avvy gear. A few may carry shovels but merely as tools to build BC kickers.
