A first ever? A Korea TR

Well since I haven't been able to share any skiing stoke, I figured I'd post a TR about my recent travels to Korea - why Korea you ask? The short answer is I had the opportunity to do it on the cheap - Padded Room cause there's no skiing there this time of year.

We spent 2 days on the island Jeju - a big Korean honeymoon spot, complete with the massive language barrier you might expect on an island in south korea. We ran around and did everything touristy possible - a few shots:

The Group: Me,fiance, future bro in law's GF, him

    Black Sand Beach

The only freshwater waterfall that ends in the ocean

old lava tubes that emptied into the water - view from the overlook

    Buddhist Temple

After the two days we spent the remainder in Seoul:
    The Ride

A little shopping - note the store name...

    Elephant ride

    City Building

Palace - one of a few found right in the middle of the city - acres of land with all original buildings completely restored

The first picture is from in front of Seoul Tower - the highest spot in Seoul and features a revolving restaurant at the top where we ate one night. View from hotel to Seoul Tower (way on the hill in the right of the pic):

    View from Seoul Tower

Me taking some drunken BP at a random batting cage found on a side street near the bars one night

which is a great seaway to the best part of the trip - a professional Korean baseball game between Samsung and LG - the fans are crazy - you'd think it Sox/Yanks ALCS Game 7 - noise makers, sparklers, cheerleaders

    The Fans with noismakers

    The Fans with Sparklers

    Their Leader

    Cheerleaders

    The Beer Man

6th Inning Stretch? They take it to heart - both teams went out for about 5 minutes to take a break from the game to run and stretch

Think we stick out in the crowd? Go Sox!

Overall an unreal trip - I'm glad I did it but probably will not make it back - If I do and it's winter, the first Korean skiing TR will follow shortly after.

Sweet TR! How close are the ski resorts to Seoul?
Some people are like Slinkies... not really good for anything, but you still can't
help but smile when you see one tumble down the stairs...

1 - 2 hours outside the city - there are 10 or so resorts - the climate in Korea is pretty wild - hot as anything in the summer but the temps turn real cold in the winter - if they get anywhere near as much precipitation as the few days they did when I was there the skiing should be pretty good.

I knew you'd like that one - best random find of the trip
*Edit to add that it was a 1994 Daewoo Tico - they still make them over there by the way - sold under the GM name

So the beer man has like a backpack keg setup? Now THAT has some potential
Something about the wrinkle in your forehead tells me there's a fit about to get thrown
And I never hear a single word you say when you tell me not to have my fun
It's the same old shit that I ain't gonna take off anyone.
and I never had a shortage of people tryin' to warn me about the dangers I pose to myself.
