    Bros camber

I bought a used pair of bros. Apparently only 10-15 days on them. I'm not the world expert on camber in skis, but when I lay the bases flat on top of each other supported by their tips there is only about a business card of space in between them. My other skis have a cm or two. I have skis with 300 days on them and they still have more camber than these. What's up with this?

Due to popular demand for lower camber, cmor, we buillt a lot of Bros like that.
Sounds similar to the camber on the protos we pressed today
What color are your sidewalls? That tells me when they were built
Have they gotten any softer from the time they were shipped?
We normally don't see the skis break down in flex and camber until they have a few more days on them than that.

They would be from this last season when we changed to low-to-no camber.
Most of the skis that shipped this last year had a 2-3mm camber.
They get matched for graphic, flex and camber before they ship.
Sometimes the camber will be lower on one pair than another.
The skis will be the stiffness they were when they shipped.
Please let me know how they ski for you.

Want to trade? I have a set of the super camber 188 Stiffs, way to much camber for my weight in powder, although they are awesome for blasting through crud and cut-up snow, and they carve like a bitch...

Seconded. My 188 softs (from the previous year I believe) have plenty, but sometimes I wish they didn't.

Damn.......don't get me started, guys. Those flake Quebecois that made the skis two years ago had been in business for 12 years and still didn't know how to control camber. We figured it out in our first week of making the skis ourselves. Of course, we encountered other problems that bit us in the ass, but we have dialed the Bros to perfection for this year.

Actually, I love the skis we did in Quebec. I have no problem skiing the high camber and the skis were fine for me. But I do get a little hot under the collar when I think about me screaming that they needed to drop the 17 mm cambers to 5mm and them looking at me saying "We don't know why they're doing that,'' when it was a simple matter of the layup configuration.

We are always doing improvements on the fly, so a lower camber on one pair is the result of us constantly trying to improve the skis. In fact, we just made a change in the skis that will go into all future models that will reduce our blem rate to almost zero and I'm just fukkkin giddy about it because the ski will be so much better and the changes are total fukkin construction schwankness. We might have started this company as a bunch of maggot amateurs here on the board, but we are really getting shit dialed right now.

I'm stoked to ski the Fatties with almost zero camber. Cool new topsheets by the way. Look good!

Its good karma smiling on you.

I've skied Bros stiffs with lots of camber and a pair with very little. I much prefer the low camber stiffs that Splat set me up with.

Actually, Tom cleaned the shop while I was in Argentina and has a few pair he wants me to post tomorrow. We're doing odds and ends like blems and protos while waiting for the new topsheets. I just had a few rushed for my trip. I think there will be a pair of 188 sidewall blems with the new topsheet in the mix from that rush to get some done to take south.

I just got a pair of the 188 stiff demos from Tom...They arrived today and I just finished mounting them, and started getting the ptex hairs off (just one of the skis. The other one was fine)...Can't wait to get them out.

    Thanks, Tom.

    Back on topic...

My BRO's appear to be the same vintage as cmor's (b/w sidewalls), and they don't have alot of camber either, much to my liking...Due to many comparisons between the stiffness of the stiff BRO's and ANT's (which I have two pairs), I was glad to see that the BRO's had very little camber compared to the ANT's, which have a ton. This should give them a different ride experience even though the flex is similiar.
I was worried that they would be too similiar in the way they ski, but now I'm pretty sure they won't.

My Hulka Green Base Bro's from Quebec have a shit ton of camber. I however am 205 lbs and I love them. I ski mostly in the east so they work out fine. They performed great during an over the head day at Powder Mountain last year also.

Just wish I could afford a new pair of the fatties. Next year perhaps....

I've had both shit ton and flat camber Bros. The shit ton ones were great - lively and poppy. Almost too lively, they'd throw you from turn to turn. The flat camber ones are awesome. Not as lively, but still responsive. They have no upper limit and are like riding a train.

To anyone who may be interested in a set of the + camber Bros, blemmed with baby blue bases, give me a shout as I have a set I may want to liquidate for ~$300.

I know, I know - Gear Swap JONG, but I haven't officially decided to let them go so hence the wishy washy post here.

Just a little demonstration of the mad artistry of md9 with an ad he knocked out for us last nite for Telemark Skier. I got caught up in court all day and missed the submittal deadline, but it might still run. So I thought I'd put it up here, cause Jared is so fukking rad.

Don't know if we'll be able to use that shot of yours, eldereldo, but thanks for offering it!
