And Mick advances. I was hoping for some more drama for the lead.
I'm an irrepressable fan of the underdog, but I want to see Slater take it again. I think it's because when I first saw film of him on the screen of Surfer's The Movie at the La Jolla Museum of Contemporary Art, he blew my tiny mind. I was 14. In my opinion, he surfed better than anyone else in that movie, Curren, Occy and Pottz included, and he was just one grade older than me. He topped it off with a sweet quote when asked about girls: "The good ones know surfing comes first. Those that don't: see ya!"
Seeing him continue to dominate amplifies my delusion that I'm still in my prime and will never suffer the effects of aging.
I should want to cook him a simple meal, but I shouldn't want to cut into him, to tear the flesh, to wear the flesh, to be born unto new worlds where his flesh becomes my key.
