AT / Trekkers - the skis

I have been interested into getting into alpine touring for awhile and have never used trekkers, at bindings, or skins. I deserve a new setup this year so I'm getting one and have a few questions that have not been answered through some searches of this forum.

    1) Why would rockered skis be a bad choice for AT applications? - Pollard talking the tech. of his pros on the line website got me wanting to try them and anything McConkey is into is fine by me.

    2) I will be using these skis primarily on lift accessible "side-country" so I need something that is fairly bombproof and alpine based. Are the dukes the only AT bindings like this out there?

    3) Would it be better to just get some trekkers and skins for a first pass at the AT scene?

i don't suggest you use the SEARCH FUNCTION

    JONG
For sure, you have to be lost to find a place that can't be found, elseways everyone would know where it was

    ^^^^ Good suggestion

I find this works for most sites...Google indexes Microsofts site better than microsoft itself.

    Thanks fellas.

Looks like I'm going to have to pick between getting into touring and trying out the reverse camber thing. Since I'm nursing an acl, i got some time to decide.
